Kassim Osgood Says Hell Do It AllSixth year 6′5″ Chargers WR Kassim Osgood only has 32 career receptions, but he plans on making an impact in 2009. That’s right, Osgood wants to play defense in addition to his current roles as a special teams horse and back-up route runner. Apparently Chargers coaches invited him to that side of the ball last year, but due to injuries to Craig Davis and Chris Chambers, he couldn’t really pursue playing defense full-time. However, this year he plans on playing safety. When asked by Sirius NFL Radio hosts Adam Shine and Solomon Wilcots if he could actually play both ways and special teams in 2009, Osgood answered - “I’ll do all of that and sweep up the locker room after all the guys leave.”

A He-Man, yes. But what a team player. We hope Osgood can can maybe even have some fantasy relavance in IDP leagues this year, as WR/S Mike Furrey did for the Rams and Lions in 2004 and 2005.
