Lovie Smith Comments On Benson…

Fantasy owners are still scratching their heads regarding the putrid play of Bears RB Cedric Benson last season. He only averaged 3.4 yards per carry prior to breaking his ankle. To make matters worse, 30 year old back-up Adrian Peterson came in and lighted up the stat column while running with passion in his absence.

There are plenty of capable RBs in this year’s draft, and Chicago is virtually guaranteed to target one in no later than the second round. Illinois’ Rashard Mendenhall is a possible first round selection for the Bears, while a guy like Rutgers’ Ray Rice may be there when Chicago is on the clock in round two.
