Fantasy Football Week 1 - WR Questions As fantasy owners get ready for Week 1, there are several question marks surrounding the wide receiver position. Guys like Plaxico Burress, Braylon Edwards and Chad Johnson all have injury concerns this week. Who should owners target in non-PPR leagues, and, who will boom and bust?

Fantasy owners want to know…

Question - Who should fantasy owners look out for in non-PPR leagues?

Answer - Santonio Holmes, Greg Jennings and Lee Evans are all guys who make big plays happen and rack up yardage and TDs without making many catches. If you’re in a league that does not award points for catches, they are all must-starts. Well, they’re all borderline must starts anyway, as they all have solid match-ups and should fare well in Week 1.

Question - Who will boom?

Answer - Captain obvious says Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne, but we’re going out on a limb and ranking Detroit’s Calvin Johnson as a top five WR in all league formats this week. He should have a huge game against Atlanta. We also like Chris Chambers, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Marvin Harrison and Donald Driver to have solid weeks in points per reception leagues.

Question - Who will bust?

Answer - Issac Bruce, Hank Baskett, Josh Morgan and Nate Burleson, who have all generated buzz in their own way this off-season and pre-season, will fail to live up to expectations in Week 1. We expect Roy Williams to get off to a rough start even in a good match-up against Atlanta, and KC’s Dwayne Bowe to less-than-shine against New England.

Question - Which WRs with injury concerns should start regardless of their situation? Which should be benched?

Answer - Bench Chad, Plax, and potentially Braylon (monitor his status throughout the week. Marvin Harrison is good to go.

Question - Who is the sleeper of the week at WR?

Answer - We really like guys like Vincent Jackson, Kevin Walter, Muhsin Muhammad, David Patten and Derrick Mason to make a solid impact, but New York’s Jerricho Cotchery should start the year off with a bang and definitely is our sleeper of the week with Brett Favre tossing him the rock against the Dolphins.
