Fantasy Impact: Brandon Marshall To say that Broncos third year WR Brandon Marshall had a crazy off-season would be a total understatement. First, an incident with a McDonald’s bag, a wrestling match and a TV sent him to the hospital for major arm surgery, then a couple run-ins with the law made him a candidate for league suspension. Check out what we think of his seasonal fantasy value now that the punishment has been handed out by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

The 24 year old 6′4″, 230 lb. beast was slapped with a three game suspension, due to his violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

So, the question is - what does this do to his fantasy value? Well, from a dynasty owner’s perspective - absolutely nothing. The kid is still an amazing talent, and we haven’t even really seen what he’s truly capable of on-the-field yet. He has the serious potential to be one of the NFL’s greats when it’s all said and done. In the meantime, his seasonal owners, and fantasy heads who are preparing for the August redraft selections, have some serious analysis to do regarding Denver’s number 15.

Let us help. Simply put, despite the three game suspension, Marshall is still a solid WR1. He’s a freak of nature athletically, and by December, he will make all of his owners forget all about missing three games at the beginning of the season.

I’ve participated in two expert drafts since the announcement of Marshall’s suspension, and I’m telling you, he’s not falling past the mid fourth round. If he does in your league, snatch him as the value of the draft in round five. Consider him even in round three of 12 team leagues that start three WRs, despite the suspension. Think about it, if Marshall stays healthy for all 13 games, he’ll likely play in just as many contests as guys like Andre Johnson and Anquan Boldin, who have been known to miss games due to injuries.

Now that there are no unknowns when it comes to this extremely talented youngster, he’s safe to invest in. Of course, if you can get him “on the cheap” due to his suspension, more power to you.
