Week 4 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike

In spite of the horrible QB situation and absolutely putrid offense in Kansas City, second year receiver Dwayne Bowe has had a very respectable first three games of the season, racking up 15 catches for 182 yards and two TDs. In Week 4, K.C. hosts Denver, who has been in a shootout every week thus far, and veteran Damon Huard could take over for Tyler Thigpen, which would bode well for Bowe’s digits.
Other than Bowe, which WRs do we love in Week 4?
Steve Smith has a great match-up against Atlanta, expect big numbers from him in his second game of the season. Lee Evans has been solid thus far this season, catching four balls for 65 or more yards in each contest, however, he hasn’t reached the end zone yet. Well, we have news for you folks - against a shaky Rams secondary, he’s a good bet to get there not only once but twice.
We also really like T.J. Houshmandzadeh against Cleveland, Chad Ocho Cinco against Cleveland, Derrick Mason at Pittsburgh, Josh Reed at St. Louis, and our two super sleepers of week - Lance Moore and Robert Meachem against the Niners. With Jeremy Shockey out, and David Patten hurting, there is a chance for both of them to play a significant role this week.
Which WRs do we dislike in Week 4?
For some reason we’re not too keen on the Cardinals bunch. While Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin have been RED HOT this season, we just have a feeling that the Jets are going to put a ton of pressure on Kurt Warner and throw him off his game. This one could get ugly all around. We’re also not fans of Hank Baskett at Chicago and Antonio Bryant hosting Green Bay.
Which QBs do we like in Week 4?
Carson Palmer will have his second solid week and should be in all fantasy line-ups against the Cleveland Browns. In that same match-up, expect decent things from Derek Anderson as well. He should get Donte’ Stallworth back from a quad injury and Braylon Edwards should get back on track. We like D.A. this week.
Jake Delhomme hosting Atlanta should have a huge week, and we also like David Garrard to build on the momentum of last week’s win at Indy. He’ll play well against Houston, and could reach the end zone via the ground.
Don’t forget about the red hot Trent Edwards against the Rams. He’s a great super sleeper this week.
Which QBs should fantasy owners avoid in Week 4?
Kurt Warner at New York Jets, Gus Frerotte at Tennessee Titans and Matt Ryan at Carolina Panthers.
Which rushers should owners target in Week 4?
Once again, Mojo (vs. Houston) and Gore (at New Orleans) are must starts. Chris Perry is a must start against Cleveland, as he’s racked up 20 or more carries and a TD in each of his last two games. We really like both Carolina backs (Jonathan Stewart a little more than DeAngelo Williams) against Atlanta. Super sleepers include Le’Ron McClain on Monday night at Pittsburgh, Michael Bush against the Chargers and Rashard Mendenhall - who makes his first career start on Monday night against a tough, tough Ravens defense.
Which RBs should owners avoid in Week 4?
We don’t like Adrian Peterson or Chester Taylor against the Titans defense, and we don’t like Chris Johnson or LenDale White at all against the Vikings defense. Avoid Edgerrin James at the Jets as well.
TE Predictions - Tony Gonzalez will be by far the best fantasy TE in Week 4, especially if Damon Huard returns against the Broncos. Todd Heap will finally have his coming out party against the Steelers on Monday night, since he’s finally fully healthy. Bills TE Robert Royal should get into the end zone against the Rams.
IDP Predictions - Julius Peppers should get to Matt Ryan at least once, Charles Grant will have a great game against San Francisco, Jevon Kearse, Albert Haynesworth, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Jason Jones will all get to Gus Frerotte and Marcus Stroud should ring Trent Green’s bell once or twice.
