Former first round pick J.P. Losman lost his starting job to Trent Edwards this season, but injuries can quickly change the picture. Losman had the opportunity to come in and play for the first time this season after Edwards left with a concussion in Week 5. Jeff Garcia, Sage Rosenfels, Seneca Wallace, Brandon Stokley and Tom Santi are others that could see an increased role in coming weeks due to injuries. Read more

Week 4 Injury Scares

Two of fantasy football’s hottest players thus far in 2008 were injured in Week 4. Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin was sandwiched between two Jets defenders in the end zone and it appeared that his neck snapped. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a right shoulder injury and was barely able to finish Green Bay’s loss against Tampa. Read more

Inevitably, many fantasy owners find themselves dumbfounded and perplexed by the poor play of several wide receivers that were considered top of the line pass catchers heading into the 2008 season. Granted, one of them has only played two games, and another lost his starting QB in Week 1, but for the others, there seems to be no legitimate reason why they shouldn’t be playing well right now. Broncos WR Brandon Marshall returned from his one game suspension to the tune of 18 receptions for 166 yards and a TD in Week 2 against San Diego. Don’t think for a second that Panthers fiery wide receiver Steve Smith wasn’t licking his chops thinking of his Week 3 return from suspension against the Minnesota Vikings. Read more
