We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About

October 27, 2008

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About As always, we made a ton of predictions prior to Week 8 of the NFL season. Some conventional. Some unconventional. Some on our free portion of the site, and some in our Ultimate Strategist Package. Read more

Week 8 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike

October 23, 2008

Week 8 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike We said we loved Texans RB Steve Slaton a week ago, and he came through with 80 rushing yards and a TD against the Lions. We expect him to do even more than that against the horrible Bengals defense that was lit up for three scores by Mewelde Moore last week. Read more

Guess Who’s Back? Benson & Davenport.

October 1, 2008

Guess Whos Back? Benson & Davenport. Week 5 has been full of surprises thus far - and returns. Upon the placement of rookie Rashard Mendenhall on injured reserve due to a fractured left shoulder, the Steelers have brought back a familiar face. The Bengals also made an interesting move, bringing in a 25 year old former fourth overall draft pick. Read more

Week 4 Injury Scares

September 28, 2008

Week 4 Injury Scares Two of fantasy football’s hottest players thus far in 2008 were injured in Week 4. Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin was sandwiched between two Jets defenders in the end zone and it appeared that his neck snapped. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a right shoulder injury and was barely able to finish Green Bay’s loss against Tampa. Read more

Fantasy Football Week 1 - WR Questions

September 3, 2008

Fantasy Football Week 1 - WR Questions As fantasy owners get ready for Week 1, there are several question marks surrounding the wide receiver position. Guys like Plaxico Burress, Braylon Edwards and Chad Johnson all have injury concerns this week. Who should owners target in non-PPR leagues, and, who will boom and bust? Read more

Boldin Situation Heats Up

August 22, 2008

Boldin Situation Heats Up Anquan Boldin wants out of Arizona. He’s stating that he simply cannot get along with head coach Ken Whisenhunt, and he will not re-sign with the team. His slimy agent, Drew Rosenhaus is asking the organization to consider making a trade happen now. This could go one of three ways. Read more

Experts Draft: Roddy White Goes In Rd. 3

June 16, 2008

roddy-white.jpgFalcons WR Roddy White had a breakout third season in 2007, hauling in 83 passes for 1,202 yards and six scores in Bobby Petrino and Hue Jackson’s high flying offense, but will the stat column translate over to 2008 under the much more conservative and run-friendly Mike Smith and Mike Mularkey? We don’t think so, but find out who did, as we analyze the third round of our most recent experts league draft. Read more

Boldin Texts: I May Miss Training Camp…

June 14, 2008

KFFL reports that Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com wrote about Anquan Boldin sending a text message saying he may not report to training camp this year, due to his contract situation.

Honestly, we’re not worried about this. Boldin owners should remain confident that he’ll show. He’s a gamer who won’t be kept off the field by much. He and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, know that the best way for Boldin to get a new deal is for him to show up and work with his teammates. Boldin’s fantasy value isn’t negatively affected by this news.

Several Veterans Won’t Skip Mini-Camp…

May 30, 2008

We’re hearing that guys like Chicago’s Brian Urlacher, New Orleans’ Marques Colston and Cincy’s T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and even Miami’s Jason Taylor and Arizona’s Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James will not skip upcoming mandatory mini-camps in June.

This is a tell-tale sign that this “voluntary” off-season stuff doesn’t hold much weight with some guys.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cleveland’s Kellen Winslow shows up in Cleveland as well. We believe he will.

Anquan Boldin Misses Practice…

May 20, 2008

Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin reportedly missed the team’s OTA practice on Tuesday. No reason was given for his absence. We’ve heard that his contract situation is tame at this point, so we’d be surprised if he’s backtracking on his earlier assurance that he’s happy and ready to play in Arizona this year.

Change Of Heart? Boldin Goes To Work

May 3, 2008

anquan-boldin-2.jpgIt’s nice to hear that - for the moment, at least - Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin has decided to squash his trade demands and just show up and play in 2008. It appears that Boldin doesn’t want to take a page out of Chad Johnson’s book. Imagine that - a star athlete deciding to show some patience and earn his money before it’s paid to him. Is there a chance that Ocho Cinco will turn around and follow Boldin’s lead? Read more
