Kurt Could Be The Man - For Now
August 26, 2008
When Matt Leinart threw three interceptions against the Raiders during preseason Week 3, the writing was on the wall - Kurt Warner was likely to start in Week 1, against the division rival 49ers. Sure enough, less than six hours later, ESPN made it official - but Ken Whisenhunt still hasn’t announced who the Cardinals starter is. Read more
Boldin Situation Heats Up
August 22, 2008
Anquan Boldin wants out of Arizona. He’s stating that he simply cannot get along with head coach Ken Whisenhunt, and he will not re-sign with the team. His slimy agent, Drew Rosenhaus is asking the organization to consider making a trade happen now. This could go one of three ways. Read more
Fantasy Sleeper: Matt Leinart

Wilson: “I’m The Best Safety In The NFL”…
July 31, 2008
Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson, a Pro Bowler in 2006, welcomed himself back to the NFL after an injury-shortened 2007 season. Wilson was easily the top fantasy defensive back in 2005 and 2006, but struggled in Ken Whisenhunt’s defense prior to being injured last year.
He’s called himself the best safety in the NFL, and is apparently motivated to absolutely have a monster year. The soon to be 29 year old Wilson is a beast at 6′3″, 230, and we wouldn’t bet against him being extremely fantasy worthy in 2008. He and FS Antrel Rolle will be solid IDP sleepers this year.
Matt Leinart Having Footwork Issues?
June 20, 2008
There are some reports floating around right now about Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt having issues with Matt Leinart’s footwoork.
No-Offseason Take: Look, it’s June. Yes, this is news. But, it shouldn’t affect the fact that Leinart will have every, and we mean every opportunity to start in 2008. In other words, we’re not knocking him down in our rankings because of this.
Cardinals’ J.J. Arrington Arrested…
June 19, 2008
Cardinals RB J.J. Arrington was arrested yesterday morning for allegedly getting into a fight in North Carolina.
And the problems for NFL players keep on coming. Commish Roger Goodell is likely to let Arrington slide, due to having no prior blemishes while in the NFL. However, this definitely doesn’t help his cause for earning more of a role in the Cardinals’ offense in 2008.
Arrington has no fantasy value, but Cards rookie Tim Hightower is a definite super sleeper worth watching in our eyes, as Edgerrin James continues to slow down.
Boldin Texts: I May Miss Training Camp…
June 14, 2008
KFFL reports that Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com wrote about Anquan Boldin sending a text message saying he may not report to training camp this year, due to his contract situation.
Honestly, we’re not worried about this. Boldin owners should remain confident that he’ll show. He’s a gamer who won’t be kept off the field by much. He and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, know that the best way for Boldin to get a new deal is for him to show up and work with his teammates. Boldin’s fantasy value isn’t negatively affected by this news.
Matt Leinart Will Start In Arizona…
June 3, 2008
Word is that when Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt was asked about has quarterback depth chart after practice yesterday, he said Matt Leinart is clearly his starter.
However, Kurt Warner split first team reps with Leinart. Warner is definitely still in the picture, but Leinart will have every chance to succeed, and we believe he’s a solid seasonal sleeper candidate and great dynasty prospect.
Update: Matt Leinart vs. Kurt Warner
June 2, 2008
What’s Ken Whisenhunt doing? Veteran Kurt Warner reportedly took most of the first team reps in practice the other day. Is there a QB controversy in Arizona?
Our money is on Matt Leinart winning the starting job in year three of his career. Whichever QB wins the gig will have very solid fantasy value, for sure, but the situation will likely need to be monitored weekly in 2008.
Ben Patrick Looking Good…
May 30, 2008
Rotoworld reports that Cardinals back-up TE Ben Patrick has looked very solid while replacing the injured Leonard Pope this offseason.
Patrick enters his second season and likely won’t have any fantasy value in 2008, but is worth watching in Arizona’s offense.
Matt Leinart Runs With First Team…
May 23, 2008
Evidence that Matt Leinart is the Cardinals’ clear cut starter heading into the 2008 season lies with the fact that he’s been repping with the first team exclusively during Cardinals OTAs.
Say what you will about Leinart, but we really like him as a potential huge fantasy sleeper in 2008. He certainly has the weapons, so if he can stay healthy, he could end up being a fantasy starter for many owners.
Anquan Boldin Misses Practice…
May 20, 2008
Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin reportedly missed the team’s OTA practice on Tuesday. No reason was given for his absence. We’ve heard that his contract situation is tame at this point, so we’d be surprised if he’s backtracking on his earlier assurance that he’s happy and ready to play in Arizona this year.
