Several Superstars Return In Week 13…
November 30, 2008
Just when it appeared that several star caliber players had fallen off to the point that owners should consider benching them, many of them came back and showed their stuff in Week 13. Guys like Brian Westbrook, Donovan McNabb, and a few others drastically improved their fantasy value. Read more
We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About
October 12, 2008
Vikings WR Bernard Berrian got off to an extremely slow start this season, catching only three balls for 38 yards in his first two games. However, over the last three weeks, he’s been one of the NFL’s hottest receivers, and we predicted his breakout game against the Lions in Week 6. Read more
Michael Bush Could Garner Large Role
September 19, 2008
We’ve been telling Michael Bush’s long term owners to stay patient with him. The 6′1″, 260 lb. back from Louisville is dynamic and has first round talent despite being selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Now, as the 2008 NFL season starts to unfold, Bush is starting to look like he could play a huge role in Oakland’s offense. Read more
Experts Draft: Galloway Still Has Value?
June 23, 2008
After a short hiatus from analyzing the most recent expert draft I participated in , it’s time to get right back to it. There are many interesting issues to discuss, namely 37 year old (soon-to-be, anyway) Joey Galloway being taken at the beginning of the round, with names like Donald Driver, Anthony Gonzalez, Jerricho Cotchery and Vincent Jackson still on the board. Sidney Rice To Start In 2008…
May 29, 2008
It’s beginning to sound a lot like second year Vikings WR Sidney Rice will start opposite Bernard Berrian in 2008. The 6′4″ pass catcher from South Carolina has reportedly put on eight pounds of muscle, and is developing a phenomenal chemistry with Berrian. The youngster is soaking in necessary knowledge about the game of football, and fine tuning his route running ability in preparation for a breakout second season. We really like him as a sleeper WR3 in deep leagues.
Tarvaris Jackson Looking Solid…
May 28, 2008
Word from Vikings practice is that third year signal caller Tarvaris Jackson has stepped up his game big time this off-season and is looking great.
He’s way more comfortable with his reads, progressions and throws this off-season, and is becoming a leader on the field.
He’s also worked on developing solid chemistry specifically with receivers Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice, both of whom are solid dynasty sleepers in our book.
We’ve always had faith in Jackson, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him becoming an up-and-comer among fantasy circles leading up to 2008 drafts.
Sidney Rice, Bernard Berrian To Start…
May 22, 2008
Second year man Sidney Rice, and free agent acquisition Bernard Berrian both lined up as starters exclusively throughout Vikings OTAs. Both have solid fantasy potential as WR3s in deep leagues.
We favor Rice in dynasty leagues, and Berrian in seasonal formats.
Bryant Johnson To Make An Impact
March 21, 2008
One of our sources called us immediately following Bryant Johnson’s signing with the 49ers and said he believes Johnson will easily be the 49ers’ number one WR in 2008. At 6′3″, Johnson looks a lot like Detroit’s Roy Williams, and has the potential to put up huge numbers in Mike Martz’s offense. No other WR on San Fran’s current rosters is as big has him, and Darrell Jackson being released doesn’t hurt either. Dynasty owners should buy him low and hope he can contribute as a solid WR3 in 2008. Read more
Adams, White, Berrian, Briggs, Turner Rising…
March 8, 2008
Rising - Greg White & Gaines Adams, Buccaneers DEs - DEs Greg White - a 29 year old second year player - and Gaines Adams - the fourth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, really came on strong late in the 2007 season for Monte Kiffin’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. Upon the release of DEs Greg Spires and Kevin Carter just prior to the start of free agency this offseason, White and Adams have been named the team’s starters already for the 2008 season. IDPers that play in leagues requiring starters at defensive line should take note, and rank Adams as a potential top 15 rush end this season, while White is a darkhorse sleeper to put up some serious points. Stallworth Signs Long Term Deal With Browns…
March 2, 2008
27 year old WR Donte’ Stallworth signed a seven year contract with the Cleveland Browns. This is an absolutely near perfect fit. Stallworth will start opposite Braylon Edwards and will become a serious deep target for Derek Anderson. We like him already as a solid WR3 in 2008.
Bernard Berrian, Vikings WR
No-Offseason.com
Bernard Berrian signed a six year, $42 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings. We love this move for Brad Childress’ squad. With Berrian and Sidney Rice stretching the field, Tarvaris Jackson should improve big time and could possibly even become a fantasy option in 2008.
Keary Colbert, Broncos WR
No-Offseason.com
After releasing Javon Walker, the Broncos signed free agent Keary Colbert to a two year deal. This is a very interesting move, considering Colbert has underachieved big time.
Gibril Wilson, Raiders SS
No-Offseason.com
The Raiders inked Gibril Wilson, a top IDP defensive back. This could spell a bit of trouble for former top 10 pick Michael Huff.
Devery Henderson, Saints WR
No-Offseason.com
The Saints signed Henderson - a home run hitter - to a one year deal.
Terry Glenn, Cowboys WR
No-Offseason.com
Cowboys WR Terry Glenn has decided not to undergo microfracture surgery this off-season. This is a great decision, since that kind of surgery would almost certainly end his career immediately. His bone-on-bone will continue to limit him.
