Week 6 Waiver Wire WRs

October 8, 2008

Week 6 Waiver Wire WRs Many fantasy owners are looking for bye-week fill-ins and injury replacements in Week 6, and there are plenty of options to choose from, including Denver’s Brandon Stokley, who has hauled in 13 passes for 132 yards and a TD in the last two weeks. Read more

Opportunity Knocks For Losman, Others

October 5, 2008

Opportunity Knocks For Losman, Others Former first round pick J.P. Losman lost his starting job to Trent Edwards this season, but injuries can quickly change the picture. Losman had the opportunity to come in and play for the first time this season after Edwards left with a concussion in Week 5. Jeff Garcia, Sage Rosenfels, Seneca Wallace, Brandon Stokley and Tom Santi are others that could see an increased role in coming weeks due to injuries. Read more

Michael Turner & Roddy White Are Legit…

October 5, 2008

Well, we’ll be the first to admit that we were extremely skeptical of the Atlanta Falcons offense this season. Even after phenomenal performances against the Lions and Chiefs in Weeks 1 & 3, we needed to see Atlanta come out and do it for real against a proven team. In Week 5, they waltzed into Green Bay and led their team to a 27-24 victory, while also posting some pretty solid fantasy digits themselves. Read more

Selvin Young’s Stock Is Soaring, Henry Done…

June 5, 2008

In June, there aren’t many factors that can really make a huge difference in a player’s fantasy value, but we keep our Stock Market Report popping anyway. Certain guys are really shining in organized team activities, while others are faltering or experiencing off-the-field issues of concern. Some teams also elect to cut the fat in certain areas, potentially creating solid opportunities for other guys on the squad. Lastly, sometimes contract situations that become resolved this time of year can shed a whole new light on players. Read more

Keary Colbert In The Mix To Start In Denver?

May 19, 2008

The Denver Post reports that underachieving WRs Keary Colbert and Darrell Jackson will battle for the starting job opposite Brandon Marshall in 2008. It’s a little surprising that Brandon Stokley has been pegged as the slot guy, even though he played well on the outside in place of Javon Walker last season.

Marshall is no guarantee to be ready for training camp, and Jackson is extremely injury-prone, so Stokley could get back in the mix. Colbert and rookie Eddie Royal are interesting players to keep an eye on, as they could benefit from circumstance in 2008.

Broncos Agree To Deal With DJax…

April 16, 2008

Former 49ers and Seahawks WR Darrell Jackson is in Denver right now agreeing to terms on a new deal with the Broncos. DJax, who has absolute sucked as a fantasy option over the last two seasons - barely even staying healthy - is a long shot to make an impact in 2008, though he very well could start opposite Brandon Marshall.

A likely scenario is that Marshall misses the first few games of the season while recovering from arm injuries, and DJax splits time with Brandon Stokley, Samie Parker and Keary Colbert. The sea of sub-par WRs beneath Marshall will sort itself out between Weeks 1-5, but right now we wouldn’t recommend drafting any of the Broncos WRs in seasonal leagues.
