Underachieving Wide Receivers

September 25, 2008

Underachieving Wide ReceiversInevitably, many fantasy owners find themselves dumbfounded and perplexed by the poor play of several wide receivers that were considered top of the line pass catchers heading into the 2008 season. Granted, one of them has only played two games, and another lost his starting QB in Week 1, but for the others, there seems to be no legitimate reason why they shouldn’t be playing well right now. Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others?

September 19, 2008

Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others? It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns offense is off to a pitiful start in their first two games of the 2008 NFL season. Wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who was second in the NFL with 16 TD catches last season, only has five catches for 46 yards this season, and has had a case of the dropsies, but should fantasy owners look to trade for him now, while his value is low? Braylon Edwards Not Affected By Hip Pointer…

June 5, 2008

Browns WR Braylon Edwards has returned to practice full speed after suffering a hip pointer a few weeks back. He is showing no affects of the hip injury currently, and is definitely one of our top five WRs heading into the 2008 season.

Edwards, Lewis Miss Browns Practice…

May 29, 2008

Word is that Braylon Edwards - who hasn’t practiced in over a week due to a hip flexor injury - and Jamal Lewis both missed Browns practice yesterday due to personal reasons.

We do not believe this is anything for their fantasy owners to be concerned with.

Jamal Lewis Looks Great In Practice…

May 26, 2008

Cleveland media is reporting that Browns 29 year old RB Jamal Lewis is looking very good in practice. Lewis is reportedly in the best shape of his career, looking lean and strong. The Browns RB has predicted that he’ll reach 1,500 yards this season.

Apparently, Braylon Edwards has also looked very strong in practices, despite his recent hip injury, and WR Donte’ Stallworth has struggled a bit trying to learn the pass routes in Rob Chudzinski’s offense.

Braylon Edwards Suffers Hip Pointer…

May 21, 2008

Rotoworld is reporting that Braylon Edwards suffered a hip pointer in practice today. He’ll likely miss the next couple of days of practice.

This isn’t considered serious by any means, but is still something to monitor.

Maroney, Edwards, Roddy White Rising; Edge Falling

January 24, 2008

Rising – Laurence Maroney, Patriots RB – Heading into Week 15, there were quite a few question marks surrounding Maroney’s dynasty value. The 22 year old former first round pick hadn’t really had the chance to run the ball much in the Patriots’ high flying attack, and perhaps more scary was the fact that the Patriots had a serious shot at landing the second overall pick due to a trade with San Francisco last April. At the time, many fantasy owners thought there was a high probability that Arkansas RB Darren McFadden - next year’s version of Adrian Peterson - would end up in Foxborough in a split carry situation with Maroney. Since the 49ers were able to win a couple games at the end of the season, and now appear to be picking seventh in the first round, Maroney appears to be safe. What’s really helped his stock, however, is the fact that he rushed for 306 yards and four TDs in his final three regular season games. He’s always reminded us of Steven Jackson, and in 2008, he may show us why. Read more
