Experts Draft: There’s Value In Round 5

Throughout our entire experts draft, I’ve been stressing the importance behind waiting until round five to take a quarterback. As you’ll see, there are plenty of top signal callers available at this point in our draft. However, QB isn’t the only position where value can be found, as Detroit’s Calvin Johnson, Kansas City’s Dwayne Bowe and Green Bay’s Greg Jennings are all top young WRs who flew off the board in round five. Busy Week Capped Off By Ocho’s Return…

Whether or not Ocho Cinco’s recent appearance at Bengals mini-camp was just a token visit for show, the fact of the matter is that he showed up. This gives his fantasy owners much more trade leverage when trying to deal him this off-season, because - at least for now - it looks like he’ll be back with the Bengals in 2008. Normally, this would have been plenty of headline grabbing news for one week during the NFL off-season, but the release of Cedric Benson and the retirement of Michael Strahan and Jonathan Ogden also impacted the landscape of fantasy football heading into 2008. Jackson, Chambers, Gonzo, Clark, Smith, Barber Rising…

Rising – Vincent Jackson, Chargers WR – The 6′5″ 241 lb. wide out absolutely dominated defenders in the playoffs, despite a sub-par third regular season in the league. Jackson is raw and has a high ceiling, so his 41 catch, 623 yard, three TD stat line this year could only be a shell of what he’s capable of. After recording 114 yards and a TD in the Chargers’ Wild Card win over Tennessee, he hauled in seven more passes for 93 yards and a TD against the Colts in the Divisional Round. We’re going to keep an eye on Jackson’s development this off-season, as he could be someone to watch in 2008, especially in dynasty formats. Read more
