Kellen Winslow To Sign New Deal Soon…

June 13, 2008

All indications are that Browns TE Kellen Winslow will get a new deal done with the Cleveland Browns very soon. Winslow has been looking for a lucrative contract extension all off-season.

Rotoworld reports that Winslow’s agent Drew Rosenhaus has been in contact with the Browns recently about a new deal.

See where Winslow ranks in our top TEs for 2008.

LeCharles Bentley Update…

June 12, 2008

After spending two seasons on injured reserve, the Browns finally cut ties with former big money free agent acquisition LeCharles Bentley.

Word is that Bentley wants to move from center to guard for his next team. He’s had surgery on both knees, so it’s interesting that he’s even assuming he’ll play somewhere else.

What a disappointment for Cleveland.

Kellen Winslow Looks Great In Practice…

June 11, 2008

We’ve been extremely confident in the health of Browns TE Kellen Winslow for quite some time now and we have not waivered on our stance. He is our second overall tight end in most formats, and will improve upon his numbers yet again in 2008.

Winslow returned to Browns practice yesterday, but took part in several drills today, and reportedly caught a 40 yard TD pass from Brady Quinn. Consider Winslow a full go in all formats, and he’s worthy of a late fourth to early fifth round pick in PPR leagues.

Kellen Winslow To Report Today…

June 10, 2008

Word is that Browns TE Kellen Winslow will report to Browns mandatory mini-camp today. Winslow has been recovery from an off-season procedure to clean up some things in his knees. We have no worries about Winslow’s status heading into 2008. We believe he’ll be totally healthy, and the fact that he plays in one of the NFL’s most up and coming, explosive offenses, makes him a top two TE in all formats.

Braylon Edwards Not Affected By Hip Pointer…

June 5, 2008

Browns WR Braylon Edwards has returned to practice full speed after suffering a hip pointer a few weeks back. He is showing no affects of the hip injury currently, and is definitely one of our top five WRs heading into the 2008 season.

Travis Henry Cut: Now What?

June 3, 2008

travis-henry.jpgSo, just more than a year after Travis Henry signed with the Denver Broncos, he’s out on the street looking for a job. He was anointed by many fantasy owners as a 1,500 yard rusher heading into 2007, but ended up being an extreme disappointment, rushing for only 691 yards and four TDs. With that in mind, what makes anyone think the 30 year old has any hope for the future? Read more

Kevin Jones To Sign With Cleveland?

May 29, 2008

The Detroit Free Press reports that former Lions RB Kevin Jones has looked very solid in a workout today. Jones is recovering from ACL surgery in December. Apparently, he has received contract offers from New England and Tennessee, but neither were to his liking. Wow. It appears Jones will come back strong in 2008, and possibly to a team like the Cleveland Browns, who really need a back-up RB behind Jamal Lewis. Sorry, but Jerome Harrison and Jason Wright aren’t cutting it.

KJ has another open workout scheduled for June 28, but we have a feeling he could be signed by then.

Edwards, Lewis Miss Browns Practice…

May 29, 2008

Word is that Braylon Edwards - who hasn’t practiced in over a week due to a hip flexor injury - and Jamal Lewis both missed Browns practice yesterday due to personal reasons.

We do not believe this is anything for their fantasy owners to be concerned with.

Wake Up Folks, Winslow Is Fine

May 28, 2008

kellen-winslow.jpgIf Drew Rosenhaus says something on YouTube, it’s true, right? I’m so sure. But some of the time, what he says makes complete sense…and this, my friends, is one of those times. Rosenhaus represents Browns TE Kellen Winslow, about whom the rumors are swirling this off-season. Read more

Browns Tweaking QB Deliveries…

May 27, 2008

The News-Herald reports that Browns QBs coach Rip Scherer is tinkering with the way that Browns QBs Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson hold and throw the football.

Uh-oh, this makes us nervous. Hey Rip, if it ain’t broke - DON’T fix it.

Jamal Lewis Looks Great In Practice…

May 26, 2008

Cleveland media is reporting that Browns 29 year old RB Jamal Lewis is looking very good in practice. Lewis is reportedly in the best shape of his career, looking lean and strong. The Browns RB has predicted that he’ll reach 1,500 yards this season.

Apparently, Braylon Edwards has also looked very strong in practices, despite his recent hip injury, and WR Donte’ Stallworth has struggled a bit trying to learn the pass routes in Rob Chudzinski’s offense.

Rosenhaus: Winslow Won’t Miss Mandatory Training Camp…

May 22, 2008

In a recent YouTube clip, agent Drew Rosenhaus reported that it’s no big deal that Kellen Winslow is missing voluntary workouts. Rosenhaus says Winslow is training on his own, and he won’t miss mandatory mini-camp or training camp.

We’ve moved Winslow up to our second ranked TE in our 2008 seasonal rankings.
