Fantasy Football Week 5 Predictions

Gary Kubiak Still Likes Ahman Green
October 2, 2008
By now, fantasy owners should know never to take a good running back - or their current situation - for granted, because it can always change on the drop of a dime. For instance, Texans rookie Steve Slaton has been phenomenal this season, combining for nearly 400 total yards and two TDs in only three games. However, our sources tell us that 31-year-old veteran Ahman Green is still very much in the mix. Read more
Having WR Troubles? We Can Help.
September 30, 2008
With the likes of Anquan Boldin going down in Week 4, Braylon Edwards, Lav Coles, Jerricho Cotchery, Chansi Stuckey and Torry Holt on bye this week, and several high profile pass catchers flat out slumping big time, the answer to your WR troubles could lie in a 34-year-old man who likely isn’t on a roster in your league. Michael Bush Could Garner Large Role
September 19, 2008
We’ve been telling Michael Bush’s long term owners to stay patient with him. The 6′1″, 260 lb. back from Louisville is dynamic and has first round talent despite being selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Now, as the 2008 NFL season starts to unfold, Bush is starting to look like he could play a huge role in Oakland’s offense. Read more
Fantasy Impact: Deion Branch
August 5, 2008
After missing five games due to injury in 2007, Seahawks WR Deion Branch entered an NFC Wild Card match-up against Green Bay with high hopes last January. He left the game with a torn ACL, and a prognosis that he may miss the first six games of 2008, if not the entire season. As a result, he dropped off the fantasy radar all summer - find out why he’s back on it. Read more
Deion Branch Won’t Be Ready For Week 1…
June 19, 2008
Based on reports coming from Seattle media outlets, it does not appear that Seahawks WR Deion Branch will be ready to go by training camp, or by Week 1 of the NFL season. He’s behind in his rehab from ACL surgery, and this aligns with reports earlier this off-season that he may have to start the regular season on the PUP list, meaning he’d have to miss at least the first six regular season games.
We recommend owners stay away from Branch in seasonal drafts, but monitor him in late August to potentially add as a waiver wire sleeper early in the regular season.
Dynasty owners should probably just hang onto him since his value can only go up from here.
Clearing Up The PUP
May 30, 2008
A term that gets thrown around very loosely without explanation these days is the “PUP.” In short, the Physically Unable To Perform list is used as a middle ground of sorts for players who aren’t healthy enough to be on the active roster, yet not unhealthy enough to be on injured reserve. As it relates to fantasy owners, guys like Cadillac Williams and Deion Branch could begin 2008 on the PUP list. But what does that really mean? Read more
Deion Branch Could Miss Significant Time…
May 1, 2008
Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren recently said that Deion Branch will not be ready for Week 1 of the 2008 NFL season, due to a torn ACL he suffered against the Green Bay Packers in January’s playoffs.
Our sources have told us this off-season that Branch’s rehab isn’t going as well as the Seahawks expected and that he could actually miss much more time than just Week 1. Branch could go on the PUP list and miss the first eight weeks of the season. This will help the fantasy value of Nate Burleson and Bobby Engram.
Fantasy owners should stay far away.
Seahawks & Saints Interested In Shockey
April 19, 2008
Okay, by now you’ve surely heard the one about who the Dolphins will take with the number one overall pick, and what moves the Dallas Cowboys are looking to make in the next week - but have you heard the one about Jeremy Shockey getting dealt to the Seahawks? Read more
To Worry? Or Not To Worry?
February 13, 2008
In seasonal leagues, when a player goes down for a long period of time during the middle of the year, or finishes the season on injured reserve, owners must replace that player and almost forget he ever existed. Dynasty and deep keeper owners are faced with a different dilemma, however. Long term owners need to constantly pay attention to how their injured players and others bounce back during the NFL offseason.
Jackson, Chambers, Gonzo, Clark, Smith, Barber Rising…
February 3, 2008
Rising – Vincent Jackson, Chargers WR – The 6′5″ 241 lb. wide out absolutely dominated defenders in the playoffs, despite a sub-par third regular season in the league. Jackson is raw and has a high ceiling, so his 41 catch, 623 yard, three TD stat line this year could only be a shell of what he’s capable of. After recording 114 yards and a TD in the Chargers’ Wild Card win over Tennessee, he hauled in seven more passes for 93 yards and a TD against the Colts in the Divisional Round. We’re going to keep an eye on Jackson’s development this off-season, as he could be someone to watch in 2008, especially in dynasty formats. Read more
