However, we here at No-Offseason.com still know who we like and who we don’t like heading into Week 5…and for everyone in between, you can always check out our player rankings. Read more
Week 4 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike
September 25, 2008
In spite of the horrible QB situation and absolutely putrid offense in Kansas City, second year receiver Dwayne Bowe has had a very respectable first three games of the season, racking up 15 catches for 182 yards and two TDs. In Week 4, K.C. hosts Denver, who has been in a shootout every week thus far, and veteran Damon Huard could take over for Tyler Thigpen, which would bode well for Bowe’s digits. Read more
Welcome Back Steve Smith
September 17, 2008
Broncos WR Brandon Marshall returned from his one game suspension to the tune of 18 receptions for 166 yards and a TD in Week 2 against San Diego. Don’t think for a second that Panthers fiery wide receiver Steve Smith wasn’t licking his chops thinking of his Week 3 return from suspension against the Minnesota Vikings. Read more
Tom Brady Out For The Season With ACL Tear…
September 7, 2008
Well folks, it looks like the man who we told fantasy owners countless times NOT to pick in the first round of their fantasy drafts this summer, Tom Brady, is out for the season with a torn ACL. But what impact will Brady’s absence have on the rest of the Patriots’ squad? Read more
LaMont In Limbo
June 13, 2008
It’s been one heck of an off-season for Raiders RB LaMont Jordan. Not only has his own team told him that he’s not welcome at practice or in their facility, but they also refuse to release him. Now, our sources are telling us just how hard it will be for Jordan to find a new home when the Raiders finally do set him free. Read more
Carolina Panthers Offensive Update…
June 6, 2008
Word out of Carolina, is that there is a buzz surrounding the Panthers’ offense. Veteran WR Steve Smith is extremely pleased with the talent around him, including WRs Muhsin Muhammad, D.J. Hackett, Dwayne Jarrett, and especially veteran Jake Delhomme.
Smith reportedly shared with local media that Delhomme has been phenomenal since returning to practice from Tommy John surgery. Smith implied that Delhomme will be ready for the entire 2008 season, and that his ball hasn’t lost any zip.
We think Delhomme is a solid QB2 in deep formats.
Jake Delhomme To Be Ready By Camp…
May 28, 2008
The Panthers got great news today when Jake Delhomme threw approximately 40 passes in practice, without pain or setback. The veteran underwent Tommy John surgery this offseason to repair his throwing elbow, and he’s looking and feeling great. He should be ready for training camp, and will be a solid sleeper fantasy QB2 in all formats in 2008.
Jake Delhomme Throwing Well…
May 5, 2008
Word is that 35 year old Panthers signal caller Jake Delhomme is looking great in mini-camps thus far, chucking the rock 30 and 40 yards with ease while still recovering from Tommy John surgery this off-season. Head coach John Fox said Delhomme’s arm looks stronger than it ever has.
With added weapons to the arsenal, a healthy Delhomme could be a solid fantasy sleeper option in 2008 seasonal leagues.
Jake Delhomme On Target…
April 13, 2008
Panthers veteran QB Jake Delhomme has been tossing real footballs for over a month now, according to sources close to the team. Delhomme is on target to come back and start for the Panthers in 2008.
They need one more solid season out of Delhomme before they start looking at who their future QB will be. We’d be SHOCKED if they didn’t draft a young signal caller, like Tennessee’s Erik Ainge or Kentucky’s Andre Woodson late in this year’s draft. Matt Moore is currently the only other Panthers QB.
Delhomme To Start Throwing Real Football…
April 7, 2008
Panthers veteran QB Jake Delhomme will throw a real football this week for the first time since Tommy John Surgery. The Panthers are extremely pleased with his recovery and expect him back by training camp.
DeAngelo Williams, Carolina RB
No-Offseason.com
There’s much debate regarding what the Panthers will do with their 13th overall selection. RB, or OT? We remain convinced it’ll be an OT. The team will likely take an RB in round two or three, but we believe DeAngelo Williams is the man in 2008.
Justin Forsett, California RB
No-Offseason.com
The Eagles will meet with Forsett this week. He’d be a decent back-up for Brian Westbrook.
Daniel Bullocks, Lions SS
No-Offseason.com
Bullocks has begun running with the team and has shown the ability to change directions. The Lions are taking it slow with him to make sure he’s fully recovered from an ACL tear. He’s an IDP to watch in 2008.
Jonathan Stewart, Oregon RB
No-Offseason.com
Stewart has a visit scheduled with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.
Chris Canty, Cowboys DE
No-Offseason.com
Dallas defensive end Chris Canty will sign a one year tender after April 18. Even though the Cowboys won’t commit long term yet, and there is virtually no interest from other teams, we believe Canty is someone to watch in 2008 as a possible breakout player. An end in a 3-4 doesn’t have great fantasy value though.
