Gary Kubiak Still Likes Ahman Green

October 2, 2008

Gary Kubiak Still Likes Ahman Green By now, fantasy owners should know never to take a good running back - or their current situation - for granted, because it can always change on the drop of a dime. For instance, Texans rookie Steve Slaton has been phenomenal this season, combining for nearly 400 total yards and two TDs in only three games. However, our sources tell us that 31-year-old veteran Ahman Green is still very much in the mix. Read more

Fantasy Week 4 - Who’s In? Who’s Out?

September 24, 2008

Fantasy Week 4 - Whos In? Whos Out? Just when fantasy owners thought things couldn’t get any crazier this season, Week 4 hit with full force. We’re not even halfway to game day, and there have already been several line-up changes. While all of them have an impact of some sort, perhaps the most intriguing change is that rookie Rashard Mendenhall will make his first career start in place of the injured Willie Parker (knee) on Monday night. Impact: Marques Colston Out 4-6 Weeks

September 10, 2008

Impact: Marques Colston Out 4-6 Weeks We knew something was up. The Saints just don’t throw for 343 yards and three TDs, spreading the ball around the field, and only get their best receiver the ball three times for 26 yards. As it turns out, Marques Colston was injured, and has undergone thumb surgery that will keep him out four to six weeks. What should fantasy owners expect as a result of this? Read more

Fantasy Football Week 1 - TE Questions As fantasy owners get ready for Week 1, there are several question marks surrounding the tight end position. NO: Shockey may cost 1st rounder???

July 23, 2008

Jeremy Shockey (TE) 7/23: In a weird and tangled turn of events, it now appears the Saints may be in line to lose a 1st-round draft pick, rather than the 2nd rounder they believe they have sent to the Giants, in exchange for tight end Jeremy Shockey , according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Shockey Gets What He Wants

July 22, 2008

Shockey Gets What He Wants It finally happened. Proof that if pro athletes kick and scream enough, they really do get what they want. In this case, four men named Jeremy Shockey, Kevin Boss, Steve Smith and Drew Brees are very happy with the New York Giants dealing Jeremy Shockey to the New Orleans Saints - and a man named Eric Johnson probably isn’t so thrilled. Shockey Traded, Fantasy Value Rises Huge…

July 21, 2008

It’s not very often that two of the NFL’s biggest names get traded within 24 hours of one another, but lucky us - it happened this week, as Washington acquired Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor, and New Orleans saved Jeremy Shockey from a situation he did not want to be in. In this week’s stock market report, find out why fantasy owners of Taylor and Shockey should be just as happy about the moves. Read more

NO: Shockey traded to New Orleans

July 21, 2008

Jeremy Shockey (TE) 7/21: The New York Giants have agreed to trade their disgruntled tight end to the New Orleans Saints for a second- and fifth-round pick, according to FOXSports.com. The deal is pending league approval, and Shockey must also pass a physical.

Jeremy Shockey Wants To Be Traded…

June 17, 2008

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio told Sirius NFL Radio this morning that he believes Giants TE Jeremy Shockey’s actions blatantly suggest that he wants to be traded and is trying to force his way out of New York.

Shockey has recently criticized middle management, and refused to practice at mandatory mini-camp last week. Surprise, surprise, Shockey’s agent is Drew Rosenhaus. Paolantonio went on to say that he believes there is regret shared by both the Giants and Shockey with regards to not being dealt to the Saints in April, for a reported second (2008) and fifth (2009) round draft choice, and that his value is much lower now than it was in April, due to the fact that the Giants may “have to trade Shockey.”

Paolantonio covered the Giants mini-camp last week for ESPN, and also chimed in about the Plaxico Burress contract situation, saying he thinks Plax made a tactical error by kicking and screaming at practice last week about not having a deal done yet, when Jerry Reese is negotiating in good faith with Rosenhaus.

We see this all working out by training camp. Plax will have a deal done and be a solid fantasy WR2. Shockey will stay with the Giants and regain his spot as a solid fantasy TE1 in 2008.

Jeremy Shockey Still Unhappy…

June 12, 2008

CBSSports.com is reporting that Jeremy Shockey stayed inside during all portions of practice today, and did not talk to the media. Shockey recently vented at a charity event about the Giants organization.

Is it a coincidence that all of Drew Rosenhaus’ boys are acting up right now? Shockey and Chad Johnson are in virtually identical situations, nursing fake injuries and using them as an excuse to sit out and pout at mandatory practices.

Who really cares though? In the end, both of these guys will start Week 1 for their respective teams and fantasy owners will forget all of this drama.

Cedric Benson Not Focused On Football

June 6, 2008

cedric-benson.jpgWondering why former fourth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft Cedric Benson has grossly underachieved during his first three seasons in the NFL? Our sources tell us that the main reason for his lack of burst, speed and quite frankly - understanding of the NFL game - is a major lack of focus. Sources close to the University of Texas football program have told us that since entering the pros and receiving a big payday, he has steadily lost interest in football, and started to pursue other off-the-field interests. Jeremy Shockey Will Report To Mini-Camp…

June 6, 2008

After giving the impression that he was unhappy and wanted out of New York, it appears Jeremy Shockey will report to Giants mandatory mini-camp in mid-June. We all know Shockey is one of the league’s most talented tight ends, but he’s never really been able to put it all together mentally and have a standout season. We think maybe the Giants winning the Super Bowl was just the slice of humble pie that Shockey needed to re-focus and come back strong.

We expect big things from him in a much-improved Giants offense in 2008. He’s reportedly fully recovered from the broken leg that ended his season.
