T.O. & The “Cock-Blocking” Owner
June 9, 2008
The Cowboys recent move to extend the contract of 35 year old wide receiver Terrell Owens set into effect a chain of events that gave me the idea for blogging about this subject. Regarding the headline, you probably thought I was referring to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when you read “cock-blocking” owner, however, I was not. Owens’ signing not only gave me a new outlook on his dynasty fantasy value, but it reiterated a trend that is likely happening in most long-term fantasy leagues around the country. Read more
Pacman Jones To Play Wide Receiver?
May 22, 2008
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones obviously wants to start treating Pacman Jones like his own version of Devin Hester, and get the rock in his hands at all costs. Jerra said Pacman will play some slot receiver after he’s reinstated. Pacman hasn’t yet been able to workout or practice with the team.
If he plays in 2008, he should have solid IDP sleeper value.
Terry Glenn To Start In 2008?
April 30, 2008
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently told the media that 34 year old WR Terry Glenn, who missed nearly all of the 2008 season with bone-on-bone in his knee, has a “50-50″ chance to start opposite Terrell Owens in 2008.
Well, the fact that Dallas didn’t draft a WR tells us he might not be fibbing, but it’s hard to believe it after last season.
Patrick Crayton played well, and Jason Witten is a force to be reckoned with, so Glenn could also very easily be released during training camp if his knee can’t hold up. Dallas is believed to be high on youngster Sam Hurd as well.
Anquan Boldin Requests Trade…
April 22, 2008
Like Cincy’s Chad Johnson, Arizona WR Anquan Boldin has officially gone to Cardinals management and requested a trade. Talk about things really getting juicy prior to draft day.
We really think that the Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins will all make a move for Boldin - as well as Chad Johnson. The Cards are reportedly not interested in parting with Boldin, who is still under contract, but anything can happen if an offer is sexy enough.
Jerry Jones is likely to be the highest bidder, and sitting there with picks 22 and 28 in the first round, he’s the most likely to be able to get something done.
Pacman Is Getting It Backwards…
April 15, 2008
The Pacman Jones-Manny Aurora saga continues folks. The Titans 25 year old suspended cornerback/return specialist had planned on applying for reinstatement into the NFL today. Instead, he’s now saying he’d like to be traded first.
Pacman should teach a class to youngsters on how to lower your stock. First - “make it rain” at strip clubs, then get suspended and make sure you’re definitely ineligible before you start to have your agent shop you around. Unbelievable. This looks like it’s beginning to be a huge leap of faith on Jerry Jones’ part.
