September 28, 2008

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About We’re not always right about everything, but we can say that we’re definitely correct more often than not, and we’re damn good at predicting sleepers (he-man). This week, we said that Saints WRs Lance Moore and Robert Meachem would be worthy of picking up and inserting into line-ups. Find out how Moore, Meachem and others we told you to play or avoid did in Week 4 Read more

Ranking 2008 Rookie WRs

June 5, 2008

limas-sweed-steelers.jpgSurprisingly, St. Louis’ Donnie Avery was the first WR selected in the 2008 NFL Draft. The speedy route runner from the University of Houston came out of nowhere to become the 33rd overall pick. Just because he was the first pass catcher taken, doesn’t mean it’ll translate to the stat column in 2008. Limas Sweed, however, was the ninth pass catcher taken, and his fantasy value is looking pretty solid heading into 2008. Each season there’s at least one rookie WR who steps up his game and becomes fantasy worthy in his first season, and believe it or not, there is a rhyme or reason to predicting which one it’ll be. Packers Select K-State’s Jordy Nelson…

April 26, 2008

The Packers don’t exactly need WRs, but they couldn’t pass on K-State’s Jordy Nelson, a great athlete, and a 6′3″, 217 lb. WR. James Jones’ fantasy value is probably taking a dip with this move, and Nelson is Donald Driver’s eventual replacement. If Brett Favre were still playing, Nelson would have huge fantasy upside, but his value is TBD due to Aaron Rodgers taking over as the Packers’ signal caller. We like him as a football player, and he’s definitely an intriguing dynasty league prospect.

Washington Redskins Draft Update…

April 22, 2008

Word from our sources is that the Redskins are looking to draft either a defensive end or a wide receiver with the 21st overall pick. As we’ve reported for some time now, these two positions - along with OLB and CB - are their top needs. So, the question now is, do they take Clemson’s Phillip Merling, Miami’s Calias Campbell, Texas’ Limas Sweed or Oklahoma’s Malcolm Kelly?

Well, we’re hearing that Merling is first on their big board, followed by Kelly, Sweed and Campbell, in that order. Jim Zorn apparently feels that the recently disgruntled Malcolm Kelly would be a great value at number 21 overall.

If the ‘Skins don’t land a WR in round one, they’ll likely target Kansas State’s Jordy Nelson and Houston’s Donnie Avery later on day one.

K-State’s Jordy Nelson Is A Deep Sleeper

April 11, 2008

jordy-nelson.jpgThe Indianapolis Colts don’t pick until the 59th selection (28th in the second round), but that doesn’t mean that who they take there won’t have a serious impact on fantasy football for years to come. Kansas State WR Jordy Nelson is the perfect fit for Tom Moore and Peyton Manning’s offense. Read more

Colts Looking At Manningham & Doucet…

April 11, 2008

As we’ve reported for quite some time, the Indianapolis Colts are looking to draft a WR in the second round of the NFL Draft. Their first pick isn’t until 59th overall, where U-M’s Mario Manningham and LSU’s Early Doucet are expected to be available. Whoever they add at this position will definitely be fantasy worthy. We expect one more good year out of Marvin Harrison before he hangs it up, then Manningham, Doucet, or K-State’s Jordy Nelson will step into the top three WR rotation in Tom Moore’s offense.
