Caught Riding The Pine?
September 16, 2008
Broncos WR Eddie Royal did it again. He followed up his nine catch, 146 yard debut with a five catch, 37 yard performance, including a game winning TD – two-point conversion combo. Even though Brandon Marshall dominates the eye of Jay Cutler, Royal remains a top target on a team that is destined for a shootout against the Saints. Even though he’s likely been left fantasy on benches this season, Royal is a must-start in Week 3. Read more

These issues and more are addressed in our “Week 1 QB Questions” feature. Read more
Kurt Could Be The Man - For Now
August 26, 2008
When Matt Leinart threw three interceptions against the Raiders during preseason Week 3, the writing was on the wall - Kurt Warner was likely to start in Week 1, against the division rival 49ers. Sure enough, less than six hours later, ESPN made it official - but Ken Whisenhunt still hasn’t announced who the Cardinals starter is. Read more

Matt Leinart Will Start In Arizona…
June 3, 2008
Word is that when Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt was asked about has quarterback depth chart after practice yesterday, he said Matt Leinart is clearly his starter.
However, Kurt Warner split first team reps with Leinart. Warner is definitely still in the picture, but Leinart will have every chance to succeed, and we believe he’s a solid seasonal sleeper candidate and great dynasty prospect.
Update: Matt Leinart vs. Kurt Warner
June 2, 2008
What’s Ken Whisenhunt doing? Veteran Kurt Warner reportedly took most of the first team reps in practice the other day. Is there a QB controversy in Arizona?
Our money is on Matt Leinart winning the starting job in year three of his career. Whichever QB wins the gig will have very solid fantasy value, for sure, but the situation will likely need to be monitored weekly in 2008.
Matt Leinart To Start In 2008…
May 5, 2008
Cardinals third year QB Matt Leinart looks phenomenal thus far in mini-camps, and has not been limited at all by a collarbone injury that prematurely ended his 2007 season. Not only that, but Leinart has apparently becoming leaner and more muscular over the off-season, and more importantly - more accurate as a passer.
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt says Leinart is the front runner to start over Kurt Warner. We say he will start for sure, and that seasonal fantasy owners should consider him a very solid late round sleeper candidate.
Rhodes Returns To Raiders
March 6, 2008
Surprisingly, the Raiders renegotiated Dominic Rhodes’ contract and he’ll return in 2008. It’s becoming a stable in the backfield out there, and while Rhodes is likely their number three RB, it’s still not great news for owners of Justin Fargas and Michael Bush.
Julius Jones, Free Agent RB
No-Offseason.com
Jones reportedly had great visits in both Detroit and Tennessee this week, and is expected to sign on the dotted line in one of those two spots soon. Bryant Johnson is also expected to make a decision soon between Buffalo and Washington.
Trent Green, Free Agent QB
No-Offseason.com
The 36 year old Green has visited the Saints and the Rams this week. He’s searching for a back-up job somewhere, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him re-join St. Louis. Could Green Bay be an option? We hear Quinn Gray is also in the running to become Aaron Rodgers’ back-up.
Kurt Warner, Cardinals QB
No-Offseason.com
Arizona is working on hammering out a deal that will keep Kurt Warner on the squad through at least the 2009 season and perhaps beyond. They like the veteran and want to make sure he’s in place as a solid back-up to Matt Leinart.
Tank Williams, Patriots SS
No-Offseason.com
Wow, here’s a little blast from the past circa 2004. The Patriots signed Tank Williams. He’s now officially someone for IDP owners to monitor. He may not play a huge role in New England’s D, but they’ve been known to ressurect the careers of older players.
D.J. Hackett, Free Agent WR
No-Offseason.com
There is a apparently a lot of concern floating around about Hackett’s durability. He hasn’t had one free agent visit yet, let alone offer, and he may end up begging to return to Seattle on a one-year deal.
Vikes Interested In Berrian…
February 28, 2008
The Minnesota Vikings are now being mentioned as a team that will pursue Bernard Berrian when free agency begins.
Derek Anderson, Browns QB
No-Offseason.com
The Browns’ failure to lock up Derek Anderson prior to the start of free agency leads many to believe that he’ll get a HUGE offer from someone on the open market. Of course the Browns can match the offer, but teams may be willing to offer first and third round picks for the 6′6″ 24 year old QB.
Santana Moss, Redskins WR
No-Offseason.com
Even though the Redskins are likely to bring in another WR via free agency this offseason, Santana Moss is expected to be a big part of their plans in 2008. The team is said to be working on a new deal for him as we speak and head coach Jim Zorn loves him already.
DeAngelo Williams, Panthers RB
No-Offseason.com
The news just keeps getting better for dynasty owners of DeAngelo Williams. DeShaun Foster is gone, and now head coach John Fox says that a primary reason why he acquired WR Mushin Muhammad was due to his superior blocking ability. Fox wants to pound the rock more than ever in 2008.
Kurt Warner, Cardinals QB
No-Offseason.com
Even though Matt Leinart has been named the team’s 2008 starter, the Cardinals do not want to let Kurt Warner slip away. He’s under contract through 2008.
Javon Walker, Broncos WR
No-Offseason.com
The Eagles reportedly have interest in the soon-to-be released Walker. The Cowboys, Redskins and Buccaneers have also looked at potentially trading for him, but we don’t expect anything to happen until after March 4.
