Marshawn Lynch In Hit & Run?

June 2, 2008

Move over Lance Briggs, the most recent NFL star to have his car involved in a hit and run incident is Buffalo RB Marshawn Lynch. The 22 year old soon-to-be superstar rushed for more than 1,000 yards and seven TDs during his rookie year in 2007, and has been mocked as a first round pick recently on several sites.

A car registered to Lynch was found at 3:30 AM on Saturday morning in downtown Buffalo. The car had struck a pedestrian woman, who laid on the ground for 15 minutes prior to walking to an ambulance on her own. It’s unknown whether Lynch was driving the car or even in the car. Police are actively investigating. We’ll keep you updated.

Adams, White, Berrian, Briggs, Turner Rising…

March 8, 2008

Rising - Greg White & Gaines Adams, Buccaneers DEs - DEs Greg White - a 29 year old second year player - and Gaines Adams - the fourth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, really came on strong late in the 2007 season for Monte Kiffin’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. Upon the release of DEs Greg Spires and Kevin Carter just prior to the start of free agency this offseason, White and Adams have been named the team’s starters already for the 2008 season. IDPers that play in leagues requiring starters at defensive line should take note, and rank Adams as a potential top 15 rush end this season, while White is a darkhorse sleeper to put up some serious points. Briggs To Sign With 49ers?

February 28, 2008

Word on the street is that Bears LB Lance Briggs is expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers when the NFL free agency period begins.

 Dwight Smith, Lions FS

Detroit signed free agent FS Dwight Smith to a two year deal worth $5 million.  He used to play for Rod Marinelli in Tampa Bay before spending a few seasons in Minnesota.  Darren Sharper will reportedly return to the Vikings as the starting strong safety.

Justin Gage, Titans WR
No-Offseason.com
The Titans signed 6′4″ WR Justin Gage to a multi-year contract.  He’s likely to catch between 30-45 balls in 2008 and not be much of a fantasy factor.  He’ll be a good complimentary possession receiver.  In other news, the Titans released David Givens.

Alge Crumpler, Former Falcons TE

Crumpler visited the Tennessee Titans recently and it’s been reported that the Titans will make him a very solid offer that he may not be able to refuse.

Greg White, Buccaneers DE
No-Offseason.com
The Buccaneers released defensive ends Kevin Carter and Greg Spires, leaving Greg White and Gaines Adams as the apparent starters at DE heading into 2008.  Look for both White and Adams to be very solid IDP options in leagues that require starters at defensive line.

Cedric Benson, Bears RB
No-Offseason.com
Cedric Benson’s surgery to repair a fractured ankle ended up being more complicated than doctors originally thought.  He now has a small plate holding the bone together, which is not a good sign for the already slow RB.  Many believe Benson will be even slower in 2008, which is a horrible sign for his future value.
