When To Keep A Quarterback
August 6, 2008
Recently, I had a fantasy football owner ask me a question that nearly stumped me. I know, weird, huh? Usually, I’m the guy that answers questions right away, with no hesitation in my voice – however, this was different, very different. You see, I’m not huge on fantasy QBs. I don’t believe in keeping them, or taking them in the first round, however, I met my match with this question, and my answer totally surprised me. Read more
Experts Draft: Moss Is Our 1st Choice
June 12, 2008
One of our favorite parts about June through August is taking part in several seasonal drafts in fantasy football expert leagues. Not only are they highly competitive, but they’re extremely useful in learning about new trends and analyzing different draft strategies and player values. In Fantasy Football Indepth’s expert challenge, No-Offseason.com went head-to-head with publications like Rotoworld.com, Pro Football Weekly, CBSSports.com, Athlon Sports, FantasyGuru.com, USA Today, Fanball.com and more. With the seventh overall choice in the first round, we had a tough decision, but decided to go WR first and roll with New England’s Randy Moss. Read more
Barber & Jones To Line-Up Together?
June 11, 2008
Rotoworld is reporting that Cowboys RBs Marion Barber and Felix Jones will line up together in some of OC Jason Garrett’s offensive packages this season. Barber is a legit RB1 in all formats, while Jones has minimal seasonal value. Still, Dallas’ offense is definitely explosive enough for both of them to produce - especially in PPR formats, so keep an eye on Jones.
Lorenzo Neal To Sign With Cowboys?
June 10, 2008
Word is that 15 year veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal, who was released this off-season by the San Diego Chargers, is looking to sign on with an NFL team somewhere, and Dallas has been mentioned as a possibility.
We believe that Neal’s absence could negatively affect Ladainian Tomlinson’s value this season, and if Neal signed on with Dallas, Marion Barber would end up having one of the best blocking fullbacks of all time clearing the way for him.

The Impact Of Marion Barber’s Deal
May 22, 2008
Most of the time, fantasy owners couldn’t care less about contract news, especially when the news involves players staying with their current team. However, in Marion Barber’s case, fantasy owners may not realize what just occurred. Had Marion Barber not re-upped with Dallas, inking a seven year, $40+ million deal on Tuesday afternoon, the dynasty outlook of a couple young running backs could have drastically changed entering 2008 rookie drafts. Marion Barber Signs Seven Year Deal…
May 21, 2008
Well, if there was any doubt at all that Marion Barber was going to be a dynasty stud, that’s all been erased. The Cowboys inked him to a seven year deal, including $16 million guaranteed, meaning he’s their featured back for at least the next few seasons. Barber should be in for his biggest statistical season yet, and while rookies Felix Jones and Tashard Choice may play a small role, their dynasty value has been significantly limited with his move.
Marion Barber’s Value Holding Strong…
May 17, 2008
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that Marion Barber will get between 18-20 carries a game, and rookie RB Felix Jones will see 8-10 looks. This sounds about right to us. Barber is a stud RB1 in our eyes this season - possibly his last with the Cowboys. Jones has strong dynasty potential, as the Cowboys possible back of 2009 and beyond.
Dynasty owners picking in the late first round of their rookie drafts should definitely eye up Jones, as he’s likely to have solid value as a potential every week flex contributor as early as the end of 2008.
Marion Barber Not Working Out With Team…
May 15, 2008
Rotoworld is reporting that the Cowboys are disappointed in restricted free agent Marion Barber for not working out with the team this off-season. This should not affect things at all with regards to his 2008 seasonal value - as it’s extremely strong, however, the fact that the Cowboys took Tashard Choice in the draft tells us that the Cowboys may be preparing for 2009 and beyond without him.
Tashard Choice Looks Great…
May 8, 2008
Apparently, Cowboys rookie RB Tashard Choice is impressing coaches with his pass protection skills right out of the gate - a very hard thing for a rookie to do. Dallas is starting to envision Choice as a Marion Barber clone. He’s definitely someone to keep an eye on in deep dynasty leagues.
Choice likely won’t be a fantasy factor in 2008, but with Marion Barber’s contract situation coming up at the end of 2008, he’s a solid super sleeper for 2009.
Rumor: Chad To Dallas For Barber…
May 1, 2008
Could it be the perfect storm? Two Drew Rosenhaus guys traded for one another, both due to their teams not wanting to meet their contract demands? One wants to win, the other wants to get paid. One drafted way too many RBs in the 2008 NFL Draft - and no WRs, while the other drafted way too many WRs and no RBs. The puzzle pieces are starting to fit together.
We’re hearing Marion Barber could be dealt to Cincy for Chad Johnson.
