Bye-Week Blessings

October 9, 2008

Bye-Week Blessings While fantasy owners were dreading the Week 6 byes of guys like Chris Johnson, Lee Evans, Hines Ward, Marshawn Lynch, Dwayne Bowe, Larry Johnson and Ben Roethlisberger, the fact of the matter is that the break couldn’t have come at a better time for just about all of the teams sitting one out. Experts Draft: Wayne Goes In Round 1

August 14, 2008

Experts Draft: Wayne Goes In Round 1 We’ve participated in many interesting expert fantasy football drafts this summer - including mocks and league drafts - and our most recent draft was no exception, as Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne was selected in the first round. Read more

Experts Draft: Lynch Is Our 1st Pick

August 1, 2008

Experts Draft: Lynch Is Our 1st Pick Okay, so we’ve tried a few different methods in our expert league drafts this year. We’ve in so many different leagues that we’ve picked just about everywhere between 1-12. While Adrian Peterson has been our number one overall choice, we’ve also tried taking Randy Moss in round one, which we think is a solid strategy. But in our most recent draft, our choice was Buffalo’s Marshawn Lynch. Read more

BUF: TE Anderson could challenge for starts

July 14, 2008

Courtney Anderson (TE) 7/14: Free agent acquisition Courtney Anderson is considered the favorite to chalenge the incumbent, Robert Royal, as the starting tight end in Buffalo this season, according to buffalorumblings.com. No-Offseason Take: As improved as we believe Buffalo's offense will be in 2008, we don't really think TE will be a major position. Expect Marshawn Lynch, Lee Evans and James Hardy to see the rock a lot, but neither TE will make an impact in the stat column.

Marshawn Lynch Cuts Deal With D.A.

June 20, 2008

WBEN in Buffalo reports that Bills stud RB Marshawn Lynch reportedly reached an agreement tonight with the district attorney, in regards to a hit-and-run accident two weeks ago that involved his vehicle. He plead guilty to a misdemeanor, but will avoid jail time.

No-Offseason Take: This seems very positive for Lynch’s overall status, although there’s a slight chance that he could be suspended for a short period of time by the NFL. On the field in 2008, he’s expected to be an absolute beast - especially in PPR leagues. See where he ranks.

Updates: Marvin Harrison & Marshawn Lynch…

June 17, 2008

Fantasy owners have been a little nervous recently about the status of Colts WR Marvin Harrison and Bills RB Marshawn Lynch as it relates to their alleged involvement in two separate off-the-field altercations of which they’ve been dragged into due to their ownership of various possessions.

In Lynch’s case, a car that hit a pedestrian in Buffalo a few weeks ago. In Harrison’s case, a “cop-killing” gun used in a shooting in North Philly a couple months ago.

Word is that Lynch’s case will be resolved soon, and we don’t expect him to do any time or miss any football at all.

Harrison is in a bit of a different situation, in that nobody is coming forward to help the police move this case forward, and it appears to be stalling out. While this is bad news for Philly police, it’s good news for Harrison’s fantasy owners, as there’s really no way that he’ll be in any danger of missing any football due to this circumstance.

Lynch is a solid RB1 and first round draft choice in all league formats, while Harrison is a fantasy X-factor coming back from knee injuries in 2008.

Marshawn Lynch Update…

June 16, 2008

KFFL is reporting that the Buffalo Bills’ offense will become more vertical in 2008 under new offensive coordinator Turk Schonert, which is something that we’ve been monitoring all off-season. This should not only mean great news for WRs Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish, but also for RB Marshawn Lynch, who is expected to be featured as a receiver as well as a rusher.

KFFL also reports that Lynch’s alleged hit-and-run accident a few weeks ago has resulted in Bills COO Russ Brandon being subpoenaed to testify in front of a grand jury with regards to potential involvement from Buffalo Bills players. This could get interesting before the situation is resolved. We still don’t expect Lynch to miss any time on the field as a result.

Lynch Can Skate Off With Misdemeanor…

June 12, 2008

As we suspected and reported earlier last week, it’s highly unlikely that Bills RB Marshawn Lynch will serve any jail time at all, or even face punishment from the NFL. One of our favorite reporters, ESPN’s John Clayton, has confirmed that the injuries the woman who Lynch allegedly hit with his car are extremely minor, and - if anything - this will just be a civil matter in which Lynch could owe her some money.

Big whoop.

In terms of his fantasy value, there are no worries at all.

Experts Draft: Moss Is Our 1st Choice

June 12, 2008

randy-moss.jpgOne of our favorite parts about June through August is taking part in several seasonal drafts in fantasy football expert leagues. Not only are they highly competitive, but they’re extremely useful in learning about new trends and analyzing different draft strategies and player values. In Fantasy Football Indepth’s expert challenge, No-Offseason.com went head-to-head with publications like Rotoworld.com, Pro Football Weekly, CBSSports.com, Athlon Sports, FantasyGuru.com, USA Today, Fanball.com and more. With the seventh overall choice in the first round, we had a tough decision, but decided to go WR first and roll with New England’s Randy Moss. Read more

Marshawn Lynch Returns Early…

June 10, 2008

Bills second year stud RB Marshawn Lynch, who underwent Lasik eye surgery late last week, returned to practice today, a full day earlier than expected. Lynch should be full speed ahead when mini-camp begins tomorrow.

By the way, we’re not worried at all about his recent run in with the law. Even if he’s convicted in this recent hit and run debacle, he shouldn’t face harsh punishment, and won’t be suspended by the NFL or the Bills. Lynch is still a first round RB in all league formats.

Marshawn Lynch Curiously Has Lasik Surgery…

June 9, 2008

According to KFFL, the Associated Press is reporting that Bills RB Marshawn Lynch underwent Lasik eye surgery on Friday, June 6, and will be cleared to practice later this week.

The timing of this surgery is obviously very interesting and makes us curious as to whether or not Lynch’s lawyers put him up to the surgery. You see, if Lynch was in fact driving the car that hit a pedestrian woman in downtown Buffalo roughly 10 days ago, “vision problems” could be used as a reason why the driver didn’t see the woman crossing the street.

We’re totally speculating here, but “vision problems” sounds a lot better than “under the influence.”

Buffalo D.A. Making Assumptions…

June 7, 2008

The D.A. in Buffalo is looking hard at this Marshawn Lynch hit and run thing, and now he’s making assumptions that Lynch was driving the car.

We all know what happens when people “ass-u-me” things. We know he wants to charge Lynch with a crime, but the evidence doesn’t seem plentiful enough right now.

That’s all we know at this point, other than the fact that the D.A. hopes to have this case wrapped up by next week. Thank God. That way if Lynch is punished at all, his fantasy owners can know the extent of it prior to training camp even starting.

Again, we really don’t think this negatively affects his long term fantasy value at all.
