Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others?

September 19, 2008

Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others? It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns offense is off to a pitiful start in their first two games of the 2008 NFL season. Wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who was second in the NFL with 16 TD catches last season, only has five catches for 46 yards this season, and has had a case of the dropsies, but should fantasy owners look to trade for him now, while his value is low? Fantasy Football Week 2 Questions Heading into Week 2 of the fantasy season, there are already tons of questions running rampant in the minds of owners. Evans Has Chemistry With Edwards

July 31, 2008

Evans Has Chemistry With Edwards Bills 27 year old fifth year WR Lee Evans has had a solid pro career thus far, despite not having much stability at the QB position. He began his career catching balls from veteran Drew Bledsoe, and has had to adjust to catching passes from J.P. Losman and Trent Edwards over the past two seasons. However, it looks like Evans and the Bills have finally found their fit in 2008. Read more

Shockey Traded, Fantasy Value Rises Huge…

July 21, 2008

It’s not very often that two of the NFL’s biggest names get traded within 24 hours of one another, but lucky us - it happened this week, as Washington acquired Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Taylor, and New Orleans saved Jeremy Shockey from a situation he did not want to be in. In this week’s stock market report, find out why fantasy owners of Taylor and Shockey should be just as happy about the moves. Read more

Kevin Jones to visit Chicago

July 15, 2008

Kevin Jones (RB) 7/15: Kevin Jones will visit Halas Hall to take a physical for the Bears on Tuesday, according to the Chicago Tribune. His agent anticipates him landing in Chicago or Pittsburgh. No-Offseason Take: Chicago makes a heck of a lot more sense for KJ, in terms of being able to garner playing time, as he'd compete for snaps with rookie Matt Forte - who would still likely remain the favorite to start. Discuss this more in our forums.

Why Not Draft In June?

June 21, 2008

matt-forte-2.jpgHey, here’s a crazy idea for fantasy owners to consider. Us so-called “experts” always do most of our drafting in June, in preparation for fantasy magazines and to help provide content for fantasy owners like yourself. However, we end up playing out these leagues, the same way we would if we drafted in August. Obviously, when drafting early, there are a whole lot more unknowns, which results in a smaller margin for error. I personally like it this way, because foresight pays off even more. If you consider yourself an astute owner, why not suggest to your league mates an early draft next year? Read more

Experts Draft: Marvin Falls To Round 6

June 20, 2008

marvin-harrison.jpg One of the biggest questions on the minds of fantasy owners this off-season should honestly be - "when do I swoop in and take Marvin Harrison?" One of the best WRs in recent memory should be available at an all time low price this off-season, after a 2007 campaign riddled with injuries and a 2008 off-season full of off-the-field drama. Still, the 35 year old is a competitor, and will be back to reclaim his spot in fantasy starting line-ups in 2008. Read more

Bears Won’t Add A Veteran RB?

June 19, 2008

Rotoworld reports that Chicago is completely comfortable with Matt Forte as their starter and doesn’t intend to add a veteran ball carrier to help him shoulder the load. We definitely jock the rookie really hard and believe that he’s capable of being and every down back. He very well could see 300 carries, and his fantasy value will only continue to rise as August approaches.

He’ll be available in rounds five or six for “early” drafters, but in late August, he’ll be gone as early as round three - and could be well worth it. Yeah, we like him.

It should be helpful that his back-up Adrian Peterson will miss a month or so due to an appendectomy, meaning more reps and attention up front for Forte in terms of learning the offense and acclimating to the pro game before the season starts.

Busy Week Capped Off By Ocho’s Return…

June 12, 2008

Whether or not Ocho Cinco’s recent appearance at Bengals mini-camp was just a token visit for show, the fact of the matter is that he showed up. This gives his fantasy owners much more trade leverage when trying to deal him this off-season, because - at least for now - it looks like he’ll be back with the Bengals in 2008. Normally, this would have been plenty of headline grabbing news for one week during the NFL off-season, but the release of Cedric Benson and the retirement of Michael Strahan and Jonathan Ogden also impacted the landscape of fantasy football heading into 2008.
