Favre Trade Changes The Fantasy Picture…

August 7, 2008

In our second mid-week special edition of the Stock Market Report, the trade that we predicted - Brett Favre to the Jets - has rocked the face of fantasy football in many ways. Had he been dealt to Tampa Bay, it really wouldn’t have made as big of an impact, but check out what one of the best QBs of all time moving to the Big Apple does… Read more

The Ultimate: We Predicted Favre To Jets…

August 7, 2008

In the ultimate He-Man (us bragging about ourselves), we take this opportunity to continuously jock ourselves and tire our arms out from patting ourselves on the back for making the prediction of the year. One month ago, our sources told us that Brett Favre would be traded to the Jets, and we published it. Just another reason why No-Offseason.com is your source for all things NFL and Fantasy Football - year-round. He-Man.

We Called It: Favre Traded To Jets

August 6, 2008

We Called It: Favre Traded To Jets We have to He-Man ourselves on this one and give credit where credit is truly due. One month ago, we predicted that Brett Favre would be traded to the New York Jets. SI’s Peter King recently called this summer’s story the most unpredictable story he’s ever covered, and No-Offseason.com predicted the outcome. Read more

Brett Favre To Be Traded To Jets?

July 8, 2008

favre-nfl.jpg By now you’ve read plenty regarding former Packers QB Brett Favre and his potential return to the National Football League. SI’s Peter King recently reported that Favre’s agent Bus Cook could  write a letter to Green Bay asking that Favre be removed from the reserved/retired list. It’s what would follow that remains a mystery. Read more

New York Jets QB Battle “Dead Even”

June 11, 2008

Rotoworld says that according to the New York Daily News, the New York Jets QB battle is “dead even” between Kellen Clemens and Chad Pennington, but not necessarily in a good way.

It seems that Clemens has been a bit disappointing in that he’s really done nothing to separate himself from from Pennington. Apparently Pennington really wants to start, but really needs to step up his game on the field in 2008 in order to keep his job.

Our money is on Pennington winning the battle right now, especially behind a revamped offensive line.

Laveranues Coles Returns To Practice…

June 5, 2008

30 year old WR Laveranues Coles, who signed a contract extension this off-season with the Jets, has returned to practice after finishing last season on injured reserve with a sprained ankle, and looks pretty darn good going up against 2007 first round pick Darrelle Revis.

Coles has been a consistent but non-sexy fantasy option, however we have a feeling that he could have a breakout year this season. The Jets offense is much improved due to additions on the offensive line, and we think Coles will be the beneficiary.

Jets Sign Musa Smith…

May 27, 2008

In what is now becoming a ridiculously crowded stable of running backs, the Jets added Musa Smith today. Smith joins Thomas Jones, Jesse Chatman and Leon Washington - three already capable backs.

One of them will need to be released prior to training camp, and our money is on Chatman or Smith.

NFL’s Most Improved Offenses

May 25, 2008

mike-martz-alex-smith.jpgWhat are Mike Martz and Alex Smith doing in San Francisco, you ask? Only brewing up one of the NFL’s most revived and improved offenses in 2008. Martz brings with him a history of getting several wide receivers involved in the offense, developing one stud QB, and increasing the PPR value of his RBs. Read more

Jets TE Keller Lines Up In Slot…

May 23, 2008

First round pick Dustin Keller has been lining up as the Jets’ primary slot receiver. Technically, he’s a tight end, so he’ll have some serious value in leagues that require a starter at TE. Chansi Stuckey and Brad Smith are competing for the actual third WR role, but Keller should garner more catches than both of them.

NFL’s Most Improved Defenses

May 21, 2008

dqwell-jackson.jpgWe’re the first to admit that we’re a premier spot for finding IDP information. However, team defense is still an important part of fantasy football for a large majority of owners, and we see a trend developing in 2008 that needs to be addressed. This year more so than ever, there will be a number of units that take their performance to the next level. Cleveland’s D’Qwell Jackson is one of many players who will help his team become one of the NFL’s most improved defensive units. Dustin Keller Could Start For Jets…

May 14, 2008

With Chris Baker sitting out voluntary practices due to contract issues, the chance that rookie Dustin Keller could actually start as a rookie is increasing.

The Jets have mentioned that they’d like to use him similar to how the Colts use Dallas Clark, which makes Keller an interesting dynasty prospect.

Most Improved Offensive Lines

May 13, 2008

duane-brown.jpgHouston’s Duane Brown was one of eight offensive tackles were taken in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and an additional 26 offensive linemen were selected in rounds 2-7. The reason for the early run on the position seems to be simple - apparently they’re impossible to get in free agency. But drafting new ones isn’t always the best way to improve the five man unit. A few NFL teams have gone above and beyond to try to protect their quarterbacks, and open up holes for their rushers heading into 2008. Read more
