Roy Boy Dealt To Dallas, Pacman Suspended

October 14, 2008

Roy Boy Dealt To Dallas, Pacman Suspended Well, fantasy football owners got some excitement prior to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, as Lions wide receiver Roy Williams was dealt along with a seventh round pick, to the Dallas Cowboys for first, third and sixth rounders. Neither team could pass it up, and fantasy owners have plenty of reasons to smile. Read more

Don’t Call Him “Pacman” Anymore…

June 18, 2008

Rotoworld is now reporting what we did several days ago - Adam Jones does not want to be referred to as “Pacman” anymore.

This doesn’t really have much of a fantasy impact, other than the fact that it shows some additional focus on Jones’ part to comeback strong in 2008. Now, we also know where this is coming from. Deion Sanders has worked with Jones extensively this off-season, and has encouraged him to improve his life overall, not just on the football field. So, from a bigger picture perspective, the change to “Adam Jones” could actually represent significant changes that make him a better football player. Do we think Jones is fantasy worthy in IDP leagues? Absolutely. Watch out for him as a major sleeper this year (if he gets fully reinstated).

In terms of us reporting this stuff prior to other outlets, we ask that our readers take notice to our dedication in being timely. We won’t always be the first to break news, and often times will be second, third or fourth, but when we are first, we’ll be sure to let you know about it. He-Man. And when we are second, third or fourth, we’ll make up for it with the top notch analysis.

Don’t Call Him “Pacman” - He’s A Pro Bowler…

June 7, 2008

According to NFL Network’s Deion Sanders, don’t call Adam Jones “Pacman” anymore. In a recent segment on NFL Network, Prime Time told Fran Charles and Brian Baldinger that Jones would make the Pro Bowl in 2008.

Wow - quite a prediction. It’s interesting though, because Prime Time has worked with several pro DBs in the off-season, including Jones. He knows the troubled DB well both on and off the field, so this is something to pay attention to.

Pacman Jones Is The Next “Prime Time”

June 6, 2008

You would think that after 17 run-ins with the law, and a year long suspension handed down from the NFL league office, that Cowboys CB Pacman Jones would literally just be happy to have a uniform on during his first week back at an NFL practice, but instead, he showed off the same old arrogance that got him into trouble in the first place.

Donning number 21, Jones stated to the media that he thinks he can be the next Deion Sanders. He tried to sound humble, but he made it pretty clear that he thinks he can be the next “Prime Time”- He-Man.

This should be fun to watch unfold. Pacman is extremely talented and should see plenty of playing time on defense, special teams and possibly even offense in 2008 - assuming he’s reinstated in early September.

Pac Is Back: Dallas DB Works Out…

June 3, 2008

After being out of football for just under a year, Dallas Cowboys CB Pacman Jones has been “semi-reinstated” by the NFL, as he is now finally allowed to workout with the team.

The league went on to state that Jones will likely be reinstated by September 1, if he stays out of trouble for the rest of the off-season.

Listen, Jones is pretty darn explosive, and could be a great fantasy IDP option if he can stay on the field.

Dallas Cowboys OTA Updates…

May 27, 2008

Veteran LB Zach Thomas has reportedly put on around 15 pounds of muscle this off-season and is now up to 240 lbs. He’s a definite IDP sleeper candidate in 2008

Apparently, SS Roy Williams has skipped OTA practices to go on a cruise with his family. While he technically isn’t breaking any team rules, it’s probably not the best decision to miss valuable off-season work while trying to validate his spot on the team. Fans have been calling for his head for almost three years now, due to his limited cover skills.

34 year old WR Terry Glenn continues to sit out OTA practices due to troubles with his surgically repaired knees. Even though he’s stated differently, we wouldn’t be surprised if he hangs it up for good prior to the season.

Pacman Jones will reportedly wear number 21 with Dallas.

Worrying About Off-The-Field Issues?

May 24, 2008

james-hardy-bills.jpgBills second round WR James Hardy’s recent decision to pull a gun on his father during a recent visit home to Indiana has our readers questioning whether or not off-the-field issues seriously affect fantasy performance, how to analyze this situations and draft accordingly. Pacman Jones To Play Wide Receiver?

May 22, 2008

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones obviously wants to start treating Pacman Jones like his own version of Devin Hester, and get the rock in his hands at all costs. Jerra said Pacman will play some slot receiver after he’s reinstated. Pacman hasn’t yet been able to workout or practice with the team.

If he plays in 2008, he should have solid IDP sleeper value.

Pacman Jones Not Practicing Yet…

May 20, 2008

Newly acquired Pacman Jones is still unable to practice with the Dallas Cowboys due to the terms of his current suspension. That’s right, he’s not in the clear just yet. The Cowboys have reportedly tried to arrange a face-to-face meeting between Jones and commissioner Roger Goodell, at which time Goodell would hopefully alter the terms of Jones’ suspension to allow him to practice with the team.

After that, the next logical step would be reinstating Jones, but that could be another couple months away.

Pacman Jones Contract Update…

April 24, 2008

Adam “Pacman” Jones, a much better return man than corner, has signed a four year deal with the Dallas Cowboys after an interesting trade with the Tennessee Titans.

Jones did not receive a signing bonus, and will only receive year-to-year roster bonuses based on how many games he plays.

Can Jones be a solid IDP option in 2008?

Pacman Traded To Dallas…

April 23, 2008

Word is that the Cowboys have agreed on a deal to send a fourth round draft choice to Tennessee in exchange for Pacman Jones.

The deal apparently protects Dallas in the the event that they’d get a fourth rounder back from Tennessee if Jones doesn’t play in 2008.

Pacman Is Getting It Backwards…

April 15, 2008

The Pacman Jones-Manny Aurora saga continues folks. The Titans 25 year old suspended cornerback/return specialist had planned on applying for reinstatement into the NFL today. Instead, he’s now saying he’d like to be traded first.

Pacman should teach a class to youngsters on how to lower your stock. First - “make it rain” at strip clubs, then get suspended and make sure you’re definitely ineligible before you start to have your agent shop you around. Unbelievable. This looks like it’s beginning to be a huge leap of faith on Jerry Jones’ part.
