Evans Has Chemistry With Edwards
July 31, 2008
Bills 27 year old fifth year WR Lee Evans has had a solid pro career thus far, despite not having much stability at the QB position. He began his career catching balls from veteran Drew Bledsoe, and has had to adjust to catching passes from J.P. Losman and Trent Edwards over the past two seasons. However, it looks like Evans and the Bills have finally found their fit in 2008. Read more
Chad Reports, LaMont Lands In New England…
July 28, 2008
It’s that time of year again folks - not quite the most exciting time of year, but close! Training camp is here, and the regular season is about one month away. What does this mean? Fantasy football player values are constantly fluctuating as positions are fought for, contract disputes work themselves out, injuries occur and the last few transactions are made. That’s why it’s extremely important to follow our weekly stock market report very closely, as well as go back and read our previous posts. Read more
BAL: McGahee to be pressed by Rice?

Super Sleeper Running Backs
June 26, 2008
Because five of the top 25 and 13 of the top 40 fantasy RBs were plucked from the waiver wire in 2007, and guys like Earnest Graham, Ryan Grant, Kenny Watson, Chicago’s Adrian Peterson and Justin Fargas made names for themselves, fantasy owners are now forced to pay attention to just about every single running back on all 32 rosters - but how do you sift through the clutter to find the best super sleepers? Ravens’ Ray Rice Drawing Praise…
June 21, 2008
Not only has Ravens second round pick Ray Rice recently lined up as a slot receiver in new OC Cam Cameron’s offense, but he’s also apparently drawn high praise from coaches, regarding his ability to back-up Willis McGahee.
No-Offseason Take: We said this much earlier this off-season, but we believe Rice has the skills to be the next Michael Turner. A back who impresses big time when he plays, but backs up a stud for the first few years of his career prior to earning a starting role elsewhere down the line. This means we like Rice a lot in dynasty leagues.
Busy Week Capped Off By Ocho’s Return…
June 12, 2008
Whether or not Ocho Cinco’s recent appearance at Bengals mini-camp was just a token visit for show, the fact of the matter is that he showed up. This gives his fantasy owners much more trade leverage when trying to deal him this off-season, because - at least for now - it looks like he’ll be back with the Bengals in 2008. Normally, this would have been plenty of headline grabbing news for one week during the NFL off-season, but the release of Cedric Benson and the retirement of Michael Strahan and Jonathan Ogden also impacted the landscape of fantasy football heading into 2008. Ray Rice To Be Baltimore’s Mojo?
May 25, 2008
We’re hearing that the Baltimore Ravens plan to use second round pick Ray Rice like the Jaguars have used Maurice Jones-Drew over the past two years. Expect Rice to not only return kick-offs, but to get eight to 12 carries a game, and contribute as a receiver out of the backfield. Rice is apparently picking up Cam Cameron’s offense very quickly. Willis McGahee’s fantasy value shouldn’t be negatively affected by this, as he’s still expected to get 20 or more carries in every game. If anything, the change of pace that Rice will provide should help McGahee.
Ray Rice Is The Next Michael Turner
May 14, 2008
Dynasty owners that picked up a guy named Michael Turner off their waiver wire back in 2006 are finally cashing in, as he’s set to assume the featured back roll in Atlanta’s new run-heavy offense. Drawing parallels between players with identical skill sets in strikingly similar situations can usually lead to predicting what opportunities come during one’s career, and Ravens rookie RB Ray Rice looks a lot like Turner to us, in many ways. Ray Rice Falls To Ravens…
April 26, 2008
The Ravens are thrilled to get Rutgers RB Ray Rice with the 55th overall pick in the NFL Draft, but fantasy owners shouldn’t be thrilled that this happened. Rice has solid upside, but not buried behind Willis McGahee. We suspect he’ll play a lot on third downs, and possibly contribute a bit in PPR leagues, but he won’t take very much work away from McGahee.
The only way Ray Rice will be a fantasy option is if McGahee goes down for a long period of time, which probably means his owners should protect their investment by handcuffing him with Rice.
Lovie Smith Comments On Benson…
April 7, 2008
Fantasy owners are still scratching their heads regarding the putrid play of Bears RB Cedric Benson last season. He only averaged 3.4 yards per carry prior to breaking his ankle. To make matters worse, 30 year old back-up Adrian Peterson came in and lighted up the stat column while running with passion in his absence.
There are plenty of capable RBs in this year’s draft, and Chicago is virtually guaranteed to target one in no later than the second round. Illinois’ Rashard Mendenhall is a possible first round selection for the Bears, while a guy like Rutgers’ Ray Rice may be there when Chicago is on the clock in round two.
Ray Rice Is A Second Round Sleeper
April 6, 2008
Alright folks, now we’re really getting into the nitty gritty. We’ve finished the first round of our 2008 NFL Mock Draft, but we’re not done. It’s a fact that the second and third rounds produce just as many fantasy football studs as the first. Check out Ray Rice and other phenomenal fantasy sleepers coming out of round two.
