It started a couple years ago when the New Orleans Saints had versatile running back Reggie Bush “fall” to them at number two overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. The trend I’m referring to of course is running backs that play wide receiver more than they do halfback - aka “slot RBs.” Our sources around the NFL have confirmed that more and more teams will start using their back-up RBs as slot receivers, in an effort to add more explosive elements to throw off opposing defenses. Saints Set At Running Back…

Despite the release of Travis Henry, and the rumors that New Orleans was interested in Shaun Alexander earlier this off-season, we’ve heard that Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis are very happy with the progress of Deuce McAllister and the fire that they’ve seen from Reggie Bush.

Bush recently made some positive comments about wanting to get into the Saints facility this off-season and work his butt off. We expect improvement from Bush in year three, and for Deuce to end up being a solid fantasy RB3 in 2008.

New Orleans media reports that Saints RB Reggie Bush says he wants to be the best player in the NFL this season. Bush told the New Orleans Times-Picayune - “I’ve got to come out and have an equal or better year,” Bush said. “I’ve got to get the crowd chanting M-V-P.” Bush added - “I want to go about this year getting to that elite level of athletes.”
