Dipping Dynasty Value

December 3, 2008

Dipping Dynasty Value This time of year, fantasy owners are usually doing one of a few things – either preparing for a playoff run, moping around and fussing because their team “barely” missed the playoffs, or – in the case of dynasty owners – scouting which players will potentially breakout down the road, and evaluating those that may be on the downturn of their statistical careers. October 14, 2008

Roy Boy Dealt To Dallas, Pacman Suspended Well, fantasy football owners got some excitement prior to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, as Lions wide receiver Roy Williams was dealt along with a seventh round pick, to the Dallas Cowboys for first, third and sixth rounders. Neither team could pass it up, and fantasy owners have plenty of reasons to smile. Read more

Underachieving Wide Receivers

September 25, 2008

Underachieving Wide ReceiversInevitably, many fantasy owners find themselves dumbfounded and perplexed by the poor play of several wide receivers that were considered top of the line pass catchers heading into the 2008 season. Granted, one of them has only played two games, and another lost his starting QB in Week 1, but for the others, there seems to be no legitimate reason why they shouldn’t be playing well right now. Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others?

September 19, 2008

Should You Buy Low On Braylon & Others? It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns offense is off to a pitiful start in their first two games of the 2008 NFL season. Wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who was second in the NFL with 16 TD catches last season, only has five catches for 46 yards this season, and has had a case of the dropsies, but should fantasy owners look to trade for him now, while his value is low? Calvin & Roy To Enjoy 2008Detroit Lions flankers Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams both watched a man referred to as an “offensive genius” and a “passing guru” walk out the door and head west this off-season, find out why our sources think they’ll be better off without him. Read more

Lions WRs Happy & Ready For 2008…

June 14, 2008

KFFL reports that Lions WR Roy Williams is happy with his contract situation, and that Calvin Johnson is extremely optimistic regarding his health and the Lions offense under new offensive coordinator Jim Colletto.

The Lions have been known for being all talk during the off-season, so to a certain extent, we’ll believe it when we see it. On the other hand, at least the news is positive.

We like Johnson and Williams to be top end WR3s in all league formats in 2008.

Dallas Cowboys OTA Updates…

May 27, 2008

Veteran LB Zach Thomas has reportedly put on around 15 pounds of muscle this off-season and is now up to 240 lbs. He’s a definite IDP sleeper candidate in 2008

Apparently, SS Roy Williams has skipped OTA practices to go on a cruise with his family. While he technically isn’t breaking any team rules, it’s probably not the best decision to miss valuable off-season work while trying to validate his spot on the team. Fans have been calling for his head for almost three years now, due to his limited cover skills.

34 year old WR Terry Glenn continues to sit out OTA practices due to troubles with his surgically repaired knees. Even though he’s stated differently, we wouldn’t be surprised if he hangs it up for good prior to the season.

Pacman Jones will reportedly wear number 21 with Dallas.

Look For A Breath Of Fresh Air

May 12, 2008

steven-jackson.jpgIn an era where it seems every single player makes a big stink out of their contract situation, referencing this need to “feed the family” and talking about how there’s only one opportunity to truly “get paid,” it sometimes gets very hard to stomach as a fan. Not only that, but sticky contract situations usually result in tough decisions that need to be made by fantasy owners. Recently though, players like Steven Jackson, D.J. Hackett, Ryan Grant and even Detroit’s Roy Williams - to a certain extent - have displayed unique behavior. Read more

Draft Passes With No Blockbusters

April 28, 2008

anquan-boldin.jpgWell, this past weekend was extremely exciting, but unhappy superstars like Anquan Boldin, Chad Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, Jason Taylor and Roy Williams remained with their squads. Not even Lito Sheppard was traded. But will there be movement in the coming week? Read more

Roy Williams Trade Update…

April 24, 2008

Word is that the Lie-Downs are looking to trade Roy Williams, even though they’re saying they don’t want to deal him.

Philly is making solid offers, including Lito Sheppard and draft picks. The Lions desperately need help and CB, and in many other spots on the field. Roy Boy could help them net multiple picks to fill many holes. Given the fact he’s likely to bolt for the open free agent market in 2009, it would make sense for Detroit to try and get something solid for him now.
