Underachieving Wide Receivers
September 25, 2008
Inevitably, many fantasy owners find themselves dumbfounded and perplexed by the poor play of several wide receivers that were considered top of the line pass catchers heading into the 2008 season. Granted, one of them has only played two games, and another lost his starting QB in Week 1, but for the others, there seems to be no legitimate reason why they shouldn’t be playing well right now. Hines Ward Had Knee Surgery…
May 3, 2008
Steelers WR Hines Ward had knee surgery this off-season after playing through partial tears of his MCL, PCL and meniscus last season. Ward is a freaking warrior, who should be ready for 2008, but is missing mini-camp and will likely take it easy during training camp and preseason, which could open up the door for rookie Limas Sweed to get increased reps, next to future fantasy stud Santonio Holmes.
Heap, Jacobs, Holmes, Evans, Bush, Portis Rising; Young, Brown, Taylor Falling…
February 18, 2008
Rising - Todd Heap, Ravens TE - 27 year old pass catching tight end Todd Heap has already begun vigorous workouts this offseason after missing 11 games in 2007 with what is now being acknowledged as a torn hamstring. Prior to 2007, Heap had not missed a game in two years, recording 75 catches for 855 yards and seven TDs in 2005 and 73 catches for 765 yards and six TDs in 2006. At 6′5″, 252, Heap is a true weapon in the passing attack and figures to be a huge part of Cam Cameron’s tight end friendly offense in 2008 and beyond. A healthy Heap will result in a top five tight end in 2008. We recommend that dynasty and deep keeper owners invest in him now, while his value has taken an unexpected dip. Read more
