In Case You’re Wondering…
October 16, 2008
Why did Bucs starting RB Earnest Graham only carry the ball five times in Week 6, while back-up Warrick Dunn toted it 22 times for 115 yards? Should Graham’s owners be concerned about this situation? We have the answers. Read more

Buccaneers QB Situation…
June 20, 2008
FFChamps is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers favor Luke McCown over Brian Griese as Jeff Garcia’s back-up right now.
No-Offseason Take: Much will happen between now and Week 1. While Garcia is expected to be the starter, it’s clear that Jon Gruden is still really searching for his franchise QB. Expect rookie Josh Johnson to get some preseason looks, and don’t be surprised if Gruden tries to swap out Chris Simms for another signal caller during training camp.

Josh Johnson Finally Gets Reps…
June 19, 2008
Buccaneers rookie QB Josh Johnson - who ran a 4.5 forty in the NFL Scouting Combine - finally saw some reps with the first team offense in practice yesterday. As expected, Johnson didn’t necessarily impress, as Jon Gruden’s West Coast offense isn’t easy to pick up.
Still, it’s good that Gruden wants to take a long look at Johnson. He’ll make the team, and likely to compete be the team’s third QB with Luke McCown, behind Jeff Garcia and Brian Griese. The team is expected to release Chris Simms after training camp starts.
Caddy Makes He-Man-like Comeback Attempt…
June 18, 2008
Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams ran full speed 100 yard sprints at Buccaneers practice yesterday, his latest personal victory in his road back to the playing field after suffering a career-threatening torn patellar tendon last season.
CBS Sports reports Bucs coach Jon Gruden said - “It’s one of the most amazing comebacks that I’ve seen. He hasn’t come back yet, but he’s banging on the door. He’s putting himself through an unbelievable workout routine. I’ve never seen anything like it. It rivals some of the great Rocky Balboa movies you see on TV.”
When asked if he’d play in 2008, Caddy said - “Oh, no doubt. Hands down. I’m playing this season.”
If he makes it back to the field in a game this season, we still don’t think he’s very fantasy worthy in 2008. Still, this He-Man is worth following, especially in dynasty formats.
Graham Practices, But Still Waivering…
June 17, 2008
Buccaneers RB Earnest Graham reportedly attended mini-camp practices today, splitting reps with Warrick Dunn and Michael Bennett, but stated that he’s still not sure he’d attend training camp if a deal wasn’t done by then.
The 28 year old Graham obviously wants more money after lighting up the stat column for more than 1,200 total yards, 10 TDs and 49 catches in 10 starts last season. With Dunn lurking and Cadillac Williams potentially coming back, Graham will see less work this season. Still, we think a deal will get done, and Graham will be the opening day starter. He’s a solid RB3/flex option in PPR leagues.
Bucs GM: “Putting A Governor On The Cadillac”
June 16, 2008
Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Bruce Allen recently told the St. Petersburg Times that he’d have to “put a governor on the Cadillac” when referring to his young RB Cadillac Williams, who is rehabbing from a torn patellar tendon that he suffered early last season.
Caddy has made serious strides in his recovery process but is not ready to return to the field yet. Allen’s comments were made in reference to Williams’ comments about considering taking the field full tilt in the Buccaneers three-day mini-camp. We’ll continue to have injury reports on Caddy throughout the off-season.
Earnest Graham To Attend Mandatory Work…
June 15, 2008
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Earnest Graham, who has been absent from all Buccaneers off-season activities thus far due to his contract situation, will reportedly not miss any upcoming mandatory mini-camps or training camp, according to KFFL. Rotoworld also reports that Graham is confident that a new deal will be done soon, and that he will not be holding out.
This is great news for keeper and dynasty owners of the 28 year old. If he gets his butt to camp and earns the same amount of touches he had last season, he’ll be a great fantasy value. But, if he dilly dallies at all and leaves the door open, 34 year old Warrick Dunn will steal away many touches.
The starting job is Graham’s to lose, but I guess what we’re saying is, unless he works his butt off again, he will lose it.
For now, he’s a very, very solid RB3/flex in PPR (points per reception) leagues.
Jerramy Stevens Suspended Two Games…
June 3, 2008
Oft-troubled Buccaneers TE Jerramy Stevens will likely be suspended two games by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Stevens had limited fantasy value in deep leagues before this news, and now he definitely loses some luster.
Joey Galloway Will Be 100 Percent…
June 2, 2008
We’re hearing that despite having shoulder surgery this off-season, Buccaneers 36 year old WR Joey Galloway will be 100 percent healthy by training camp. Jon Gruden has also guaranteed Galloway the starting flanker gig.
We project him as a low end WR3 in seasonal leagues. Dynasty owners shouldn’t target him due to his age.
