We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About
November 30, 2008
We’ve made some extremely nice predictions lately - from identifying legit sleeper wide receivers, running backs and tight ends, to solidifying some new must start players like Carolina’s DeAngelo Williams and Atlanta’s Michael Turner. Even though bad weather affected a lot of the games in Week 13, making it a low-scoring week, we were right on with most of our predictions. Read more
Veteran WRs Are Back
November 4, 2008
The lack of performance from veteran WRs like Chad Ocho Cinco, Terrell Owens, Torry Holt, and even Donald Driver and Derrick Mason recently has had fantasy owners scratching their heads. Seasonal owners simply weren’t getting production, while dynasty and keeper owners were wondering if their stars value would continue to decrease. Read more

November 2, 2008
Week 9 wasn’t unlike any other week this year, as unexpected things continued to happen. Just when it looked like a few veteran pass catchers were about to fall off the face of the earth, they were resurrected from the near dead. Several youngsters also continued to prove they could perform under tough conditions. Read more

October 14, 2008
Well, fantasy football owners got some excitement prior to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, as Lions wide receiver Roy Williams was dealt along with a seventh round pick, to the Dallas Cowboys for first, third and sixth rounders. Neither team could pass it up, and fantasy owners have plenty of reasons to smile. Read more
Trouble To Come Without Tony
October 13, 2008
The talk of the NFL and fantasy football in Week 7 surrounds the Tony Romo situation. Although the Cowboys signal caller threw for 321 yards and three scores in Week 6 at Arizona, he injured his pinkie and will miss the next four weeks. Read more
Can Brett Favre Help You Win?
August 15, 2008
You’ve probably already read about the Fantasy Football Open Championship here on No-Offseason.com. Well, our No-Offseason.com squad was selected last week, on the night of the Brett Favre trade. Ironically, we had waited on a QB after a flurry of signal caller activity was detected early, and Favre fell to us in the 11th round, right before the trade to New York was announced. It felt like it was meant to be - but will Favre help us win in 2008? Read more
“Slot RBs” Are Becoming All The Rage
June 20, 2008
It started a couple years ago when the New Orleans Saints had versatile running back Reggie Bush “fall” to them at number two overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. The trend I’m referring to of course is running backs that play wide receiver more than they do halfback - aka “slot RBs.” Our sources around the NFL have confirmed that more and more teams will start using their back-up RBs as slot receivers, in an effort to add more explosive elements to throw off opposing defenses. Recently, I participated in Fantasy Football Indepth’s expert challenge, where No-Offseason.com went head-to-head with publications like Rotoworld.com, Pro Football Weekly, CBSSports.com, Athlon Sports, FantasyGuru.com, USA Today, Fanball.com and more. The other day, I showed you the first round, but now let’s take a look at why Reggie Bush was taken before Larry Johnson in round two. Read more
Terrell Owens On The Spot…
June 9, 2008
According to KFFL, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Cowboys 35 year old WR Terrell Owens has been placed in the NFL’s reasonable cause drug testing program. Owens reportedly missed a telephone call to set up random tests, which red-flagged him with the league.
We have no reason to believe Owens is actually taking performance enhancing drugs, as he’s never tested positive, but this was a dumb slip up on his part, as now the league has him under a bit of a magnifying glass.
T.O. & The “Cock-Blocking” Owner
June 9, 2008
The Cowboys recent move to extend the contract of 35 year old wide receiver Terrell Owens set into effect a chain of events that gave me the idea for blogging about this subject. Regarding the headline, you probably thought I was referring to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when you read “cock-blocking” owner, however, I was not. Owens’ signing not only gave me a new outlook on his dynasty fantasy value, but it reiterated a trend that is likely happening in most long-term fantasy leagues around the country. Read more
Selvin Young’s Stock Is Soaring, Henry Done…
June 5, 2008
In June, there aren’t many factors that can really make a huge difference in a player’s fantasy value, but we keep our Stock Market Report popping anyway. Certain guys are really shining in organized team activities, while others are faltering or experiencing off-the-field issues of concern. Some teams also elect to cut the fat in certain areas, potentially creating solid opportunities for other guys on the squad. Lastly, sometimes contract situations that become resolved this time of year can shed a whole new light on players. Read more
Terrell Owens Signs 3-Year Extension…
June 3, 2008
The Dallas Cowboys locked up 34 year old WR Terrell Owens to a three year contract extension today. Owens is now locked up through the age of 39, reportedly. The 6′3″, 218 lb. man is in the best shape of his life, he’s happier than he’s been in a long time. The Cowboys have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, and he is the centerpiece.
What I’m getting at is that his dynasty value has increased. He’s no longer in limbo, and barring injury, he should be very productive through 2010.
