Fantasy Impact: Chris Henry Returns

August 21, 2008

Fantasy Impact: Chris Henry Returns During his first two seasons in the NFL, a young, 6’4”, 200 lb. physically gifted WR out of West Virginia named Chris Henry looked like an up and coming player with superstar fantasy potential. Not only was he big and talented, but he played on a team – the Cincinnati Bengals – that had one of the most explosive passing offenses in the league. Fantasy owners saw his potential in 2006 as he caught 36 balls for 605 yards and nine TDs as Cincy’s third WR. He looked like a player who would play a key role for years to come.. Read more

When To Keep A Quarterback

August 6, 2008

When To Keep A Quarterback Recently, I had a fantasy football owner ask me a question that nearly stumped me. I know, weird, huh? Usually, I’m the guy that answers questions right away, with no hesitation in my voice – however, this was different, very different. You see, I’m not huge on fantasy QBs. I don’t believe in keeping them, or taking them in the first round, however, I met my match with this question, and my answer totally surprised me. Read more

Experts Draft: Roddy White Goes In Rd. 3

June 16, 2008

roddy-white.jpgFalcons WR Roddy White had a breakout third season in 2007, hauling in 83 passes for 1,202 yards and six scores in Bobby Petrino and Hue Jackson’s high flying offense, but will the stat column translate over to 2008 under the much more conservative and run-friendly Mike Smith and Mike Mularkey? We don’t think so, but find out who did, as we analyze the third round of our most recent experts league draft. Read more

Bengals To Boot Housh After 2008?

June 2, 2008

One of the Bengals’ beat writers is reporting that Cincy may let 2009 unrestricted free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh simply walk away after this season.

Wow, does this seem unlikely. Housh is seen as a leader on that team, and Cincy could certainly use the franchise tag on him. Some weird stuff has been going on in the Bengals organization this off-season, from Chad Johnson, to Chris Henry, to Odell Thurman and now Housh. For now, his owners shouldn’t worry at all, but we’ll keep an eye on this.

Several Veterans Won’t Skip Mini-Camp…

May 30, 2008

We’re hearing that guys like Chicago’s Brian Urlacher, New Orleans’ Marques Colston and Cincy’s T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and even Miami’s Jason Taylor and Arizona’s Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James will not skip upcoming mandatory mini-camps in June.

This is a tell-tale sign that this “voluntary” off-season stuff doesn’t hold much weight with some guys.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cleveland’s Kellen Winslow shows up in Cleveland as well. We believe he will.

Doug Gabriel Has A Shot In Cincy…

May 26, 2008

Word is that former Patriots and Raiders WR Doug Gabriel has a shot to make the Cincinnati Bengals roster. He has played very well in practices, but it’s not a surprise that he looks good next to rookies Jerome Simpson and Andre Caldwell.

Once Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh return to the team, Gabriel is likely to be overshadowed.

Mock: McGahee Available In Round 3?

May 10, 2008

willis-mcgahee.jpgAfter sharing round one with you earlier in the week, and round two yesterday, I’ve decided to go ahead and continue to break down the recent expert mock draft I participated in. The shockers continue, as I have to make a tough decision between Willis McGahee and Marques Colston in round three. Read more

T.J. Says What We’re All Thinking…

April 17, 2008

Finally, somebody came out and said it other than us fantasy analysts - the Bengals need to trade Chad Johnson. Get over it. He doesn’t want to play there any more, and - like it or not - the athlete controls these situations, especially in the NFL.

Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh made some comments to ESPN.com today that shed some serious light on the situation. For more details on what Housh said, and to discuss the Chad Johnson trade rumors, click here.
