Where Will Anquan Boldin End Up? Rumors are swirling regarding the future of Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin. The Bears, Giants and Ravens are two squads that have shown interest recently, and teams like the Chiefs (who are still in need of a head coach) and the Tennessee Titans both need a boost at wide receiver.

Even though the 28 year old Boldin was extremely productive in 2008, hauling in 89 balls for 1,038 yards and 11 TDs in only 12 games, there are some serious things standing in the way of him being traded this off-season. First of all, teammate Larry Fitzgerald has recently stated that he’s willing to restructure his deal in order to help the Cardinals keep Boldin. Now, while salary cap space isn’t really the issue with Boldin - guaranteed money is - our sources tell us that the gesture alone means a lot to “Q,” and could help him reconsider his unhappiness with the organization, especially given the team’s run to the Super Bowl this season.

It may seem strange, but finicky things like this do matter to professional athletes, especially in these types of contract situations. Boldin is not an unrestricted free agent folks. He has two years left on his deal. This means that whatever potential trade partners are out there, would not only have to pay up huge in terms of draft picks (likely a first and a third minimum), but would also be on the hook to renegotiate a huge deal with Boldin.

Lastly, given the fact that Boldin has missed a total of eight games over the last two seasons and his physical style is conducive to injuries, makes it likely that other NFL teams will pass on him.

Our sources tell us that based on all these factors, Cards GM Rod Graves will likely sit down with Boldin after the season and reach common ground to somehow keep him happy in Arizona moving forward.
