Greg Camarillo Is The Next Wes Welker

Greg Camarillo Is The Next Wes Welker If you’re still surprised by the emergence of 6′1″ slot man Greg Camarillo - don’t be. The Dolphins leading receiver has 43 catches for 483 yards this season, following an 11-catch, 111 yard game in Week 9 against the Broncos. Our sources tell us that the 26 year old from Stanford is legit.

Not only does Camarillo resemble Wes Welker due to the fact that they both wear jersey number 83, and got their start with the Dolphins, but our sources tell us that their play on the field is very similar as well. Fantasy owners in points per reception leagues should add him without hesitation, and consider him a very solid WR3 the rest of the way, as he faces the Seahawks in Week 10, and the Raiders, Patriots, Rams, Bills, 49ers, Chiefs and Jets - one of the easier schedules the rest of the way against the pass.

Torry Holt Is Back - After a few rough weeks in which the 31 year old WR only caught 11 balls in three weeks, and did not exceed 51 yards in any of the three, Holt finally got back on track in Week 9, hauling in six balls for 58 yards and a TD. Our sources tell us that the rumors flying around over the last few weeks about Holt being “phased out” of the offense are completely untrue, and ridiculous. Apparently, Holt has been much happier since Marc Bulger returned to the line-up following Scott Linehan’s departure. Offensive coordinator Al Saunders has acknowledged that Holt hasn’t been utilized properly and will continue to design and call plays for him. The Rams know that Holt is their most dynamic playmaker via the air, and will feature him in addition to Steven Jackson and Donnie Avery.

Rice To Play A Larger Role In Baltimore - Fantasy owners beware, it looks like another rookie RB could definitely start to make a consistent impact in the stat column for the remainder of the 2008 season. Ray Rice, a 5′9″ speedy bowling ball type back from Rutgers rushed 21 times for 154 yards in Week 9 against Cleveland, proving that he can handle the full rushing load when given the opportunity.  He has averaged 4.8 yards per carry this season, and been a pretty solid threat as a receiver out of the backfield. Willis McGahee’s knee and ankle issues are obviously still a factor, and he cannot be counted on. After warming up on the field prior to the game, and telling reporters he was good to go, he did not play. We’re not recommending McGahee as a solid play moving forward. Rice is the guy to own and watch in Baltimore.
