Pro Football Talk reports that Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) was indeed healthy enough to play Sunday night, but was held out of fear he would take another big hit by the Ravens' aggressive defense

The website says talk of him having exercise induced headaches last week was most likely bogus, and that if he had actually not been cleared by an independent neurologist, he would not have been active as the team's third quarterback. Head coach Mike Tomlin believes Big Ben usually holds onto the ball too long, and that the chances of him taking another jarring hit last night were too great.
