Charges against Vontae Davis have been dismissed, according to ProFootballTalk.com. John F. Murphy of the Champaign police department said, "We have dismissed the traffic ticket and ordinance violation issued in Vontae Davis' name. We are satisfied that he was not the individual we had contact with June 9, 2009."
Our View
It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity, as Davis initially stated. The Dolphins' cornerback can now concentrate on gearing up for his first season in the NFL.
