According to NFL.com, Dwight Freeney (ankle) is active for Super Bowl XLIV.
Our View
His ankle has healed to the point where he can at least give it a go, and ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that he will start. While he could end up going full speed and playing a complete slate of snaps, tentatively expect him to only be in the game on obvious passing downs.
