The Eagles have signed new left tackle Jason Peters to a six-year deal. Head coach Andy Reid followed it up by showering the acquisition with praise. "Jason Peters is the best left tackle in football," Reid tells the team's official web site. "He is a powerful and athletic tackle and I have admired his play over the last few years on film." Financial terms were not disclosed.
Our View
Peters didn't play up to this praise last season, but we can understand why Reid would be excited. The Eagles have replaced Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan with Peters and Stacy Andrews and should have the services of right guard Shawn Andrews this season. On paper, the Eagles have the making of a very, very good offensive line.
