According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, the Saints have waived former Eagles fullback Kyle Eckel.

Eckel was used primarily for blocking purposes, as witnessed by his two carries for six yards in the five games he appeared in this season. Expect the Saints to make a move this week to pick up a new lead blocker.
