  |   No-Offseason’s Brian Wolf takes a look at NFL Playoffs Fantasy Football and ranks all positions for the Wild Card Round…PLAYOFFS!?!?! If your fantasy season is over, you should definitely consider playing in a fantasy football playoff league. Last year I discovered Cortland Finnegan as a result, and he was a great safety at the beginning of this year. If you’re in a dynasty league, think of it as a chance to step outside the box and overcome your player biases. Often times, dynasty owners become so fixated on their team that they can’t remember all the other good players out there, and they can’t envision owning them. Use this as a chance to get a fresh look at things.
There are three main types of playoff formats for fantasy football. The first is just like traditional fantasy football in which you draft and play those guys throughout the playoffs. The second is a league where you can choose any player each week to start. Thus, teams can start the same guy. The third method is similar to the second format but you can only pick a guy once. Therefore, if you pick Peyton Manning in the first round of the playoffs you can’t pick him again. We don’t endorse any particular method, but we find that most people play a version of either format two or three. Format one, loses its luster as you also have to essentially predict the Super Bowl winner. For example, if you pick Kurt Warner, and he’s out after round one then you’re team just took a big hit. The league quickly loses its energy as big names fall out, and people lose interest.
