Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland, 6′2″, 206 lbs., 4.4 forty
Pre-NFL Draft Fantasy Profile: Heyward-Bey is a tall athletic WR, who was constrained by the Maryland offense rather than by his own athleticism. His number are not that impressive, only 609 yards last year, but his quickness and jumpball ability will make him a threat in the NFL. We have not given Heyward-Bey much visibility, but we’ll keep a close eye on him as the draft nears. Look for him to go in the first two rounds of dynasty drafts. We see him as the fourth or fifth best WR available, and a potential second round sleeper like DeSean Jackson last year.
Heyward-Bey had the top forty yard dash time at the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine, clocking a 4.30. He also did very well in the bench press, three cone drill, broad jump and 20 yard shuttle.
