Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech, 6′1″, 215 lbs., 4.55 forty
Pre-NFL Draft Fantasy Profile: Crabtree looked like the next Calvin Johnson prior to a nightmare NFL Combine. Not only did he measure in at only 6′1″ - not the 6′4″ that he was listed at in college, but he also suffered a stress fracture in his left foot that will sideline him 10 weeks. We’re not jumping to conclusions, but this type of injury is definitely a bit of a red flag and is something that could nag him throughout his rookie season due to the timing. Still, Crabtree will likely be the top WR taken in the 2009 NFL Draft after two seasons at Texas Tech. The guy is not only a freak of nature athlete, but he catches everything in site and will demand double teams at the next level. He’s a game changer, and we’re still endorsing him as our top dynasty rookie draft pick in 2009, with Knowshon Moreno now nipping at his heels. Right now, we have him going fourth overall to the Seattle Seahawks, but wherever he ends up, he’ll make his new QB a instant fantasy sleeper, as he’s capable of 10 TDs as a rookie.
