Broncos Fire Shanny - Chiefs & Lions Interested

Broncos Fire Shanny - Chiefs & Lions Interested The NFL season regular season ended just days ago, and already several head coaches have been fired, including future hall-of-famer Mike Shanahan. The 14 year veteran was canned by Denver after failing to make the playoffs for the third straight season. We’re hearing that the Lions have moved Shanny to the top of their list.

There’s no question that Shanny moves to the top of many team’s wish lists, as he certainly has the ability to orchestrate a turn-around in Cleveland or New York, or even instill some confidence in an organization like the Lions. It would also be very interesting to see Shanny end up in Kansas City running a former division rival. The Chiefs also have a vacancy at general manager, which means Shanny could have full control over personnel decisions there.

The fact that Shanny is gone could very well mean that one healthy running back could actually carry the load in Denver next season. Stay tuned.

In other news, the Browns are interviewing former Jets head coach Eric Mangini this week, and former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher has shown interest in potential taking the Jets job. GM Mike Tannenbaum has also told media that he would definitely consider sharing personnel duties with Cowher if the legend were to join the Jets’ staff.
