Dolphins Offense Will Yield A PPR Stud2007 first round pick Ted Ginn is clearly the favorite to be the team’s top fantasy option in 2009 after showing steady improvement in the stat column throughout his first two NFL seasons. Ginn has big play ability and speed and should be showcased more in his third NFL season. Ginn is the only Dolphins WR assured of a starting role, with guys like Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess and rookies Patrick Turner and Brian Hartline competing for playing time.

Candidates for Miami WR2 role – Prior to suffering a torn ACL and having surgery on his meniscus, Camarillo hauled in 55 passes for 613 yards and two scores through 11 games in 2008. It will be extremely important for fantasy owners not to forget about him, as he hauled in four or more passes in nine of those 11 games including 11 in Week 9 against the Broncos. More importantly, he’s lined up opposite Ted Ginn with the first team on Day 1 of Dolphins’ minicamp in June. The ACL is a concern, but if Camarillo shows progress during the preseason, he’ll be far and away the front runner to win the starting gig. Bess took over after Camarillo went down and was equally as impressive, racking up 54 catches for 554 yards including five or more receptions in five of his last six games. Both are undrafted free agents and should play a role even if they don’t win the starting job.

Miami’s most likely fantasy super sleeper WR – Rookies Turner and Hartline are injuring, especially Turner as a red zone target at 6-5. However, the most likely WR to make a seasonal splash is Camarillo. Despite the emergence of Bess, the Dolphins seem likely to give Camarillo the benefit of the doubt and start him as long as he’s healthy. The result could be another Wes Welker type playmaker coming out of South Beach – but this time they won’t trade him away.
