Week 10 - Who We Like

Week 10 - Who We Like Notice the title of this week’s article is “who we like,” and not “who we dislike.” That’s because with the Buccaneers, Cowboys, Bengals and Redskins on bye this week, there are plenty of fantasy superstars out, leaving owners lifting up rocks, searching for any gem they can find. And we’ve got them for you.

In a short week, our rankings are posted early on our Ultimate Strategist Package forums, and we’re excited to see what Brady Quinn can do in his real debut as Cleveland’s starting QB, but even though he faces the struggling Broncos defense, he’s not necessarily a guy we like this week.

QBs we like…

Look for Philip Rivers to absolutely light up the Chiefs, Brett Favre to bounce back and have a solid game against the Rams, and Jake Delhomme to shame the Oakland Raiders without DeAngelo Hall.

RBs we like…

Maurice Jones-Drew hasn’t lived up to expectations in recent weeks, but certainly will against the Lions. Brandon Jacobs has become a guy we like every week, and he should be good for another 100 yards and a TD against the Eagles on Sunday night. Tim Hightower is the new fab RB, after rushing for 209 yards and a TD as his debut as the Cardinals featured back. Look for him to have another coming out party on Monday night against the 49ers. Another rookie RB getting his chance towards the second half of the season is a guy we liked earlier in the year - Baltimore’s Ray Rice. Rice should see the bulk of the load regardless of Willis McGahee’s status, and should run over Houston in the game that should have been played in Week 2 but was postponed due to the hurricane. Lastly, look for Willie Parker to continue to play well against Indy. He didn’t appear to have any set-backs against the Redskins on Monday night, rushing for 70 yards and a score.

WRs we like…

Matt Jones is on fire, and faces the Lions, who haven’t been able to stop opposing pass offenses this season. This only makes Jacksonville’s Jerry Porter and Reggie Williams solid deep sleeper candidates this week. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are no-brainer must-starts on Monday night against the 49ers, and Jerricho Cotchery should light up the Rams. Chris Chambers, Vincent Jackson and Dwayne Bowe are must starts as KC battles SD, and even new Chiefs WR Mark Bradley is someone to consider a solid sleeper WR3 after two solid games. Anthony Gonzalez should not be ignored against Pittsburgh, and Brandon Jones appears to be producing consistently for Tennessee and could take his production to another level against the Bears this weekend.

TEs we like…

Return of the studs - Antonio Gates and Kellen Winslow are must-starts, while Dustin Keller (against the Rams) and Donald Lee (against Minnesota) are solid sleepers.

IDPs we like…

Ray Edwards had his first sack of the year last week, along with nine tackles, and is an intriguing play against the Packers. Turk McBride, who is another sleeper DE we loved at the beginning of the season, has played well of late, and could get to Philip Rivers. Detroit’s Cliff Avril is an emerging IDP to keep an eye on in leagues that require starters at DL. Linebackers to have in your line-ups this week include Cleveland’s D’Qwell Jackson, Carolina’s Jon Beason and Jacksonville’s Mike Peterson, while the Carolina defensive backfield, led by Chris Gamble, should have a field day against the Raiders.
