Lions rookie RB Kevin Smith is among those players we’re advising fantasy owners to stay away from this week. Not only does he have an unfriendly match-up at Carolina, but he’s suffering from a groin injury. Check out who else we like and dislike in Week 11.
QBs we like…
Drew Brees against the Chiefs is a no-brainer must start, as is Kurt Warner against the Seahawks. Peyton Manning should be in all fantasy line-ups as the Colts finally have an easier match-up against the Texans. We think Jake Delhomme is a very solid sleeper QB against the Lions, and Jeff Garcia against the Vikings, Tyler Thigpen against the Saints, Matt Ryan against the Broncos and Ben Roethlisberger against the Chargers all have great match-ups.
QBs we dislike…
Philip Rivers faces the solid Steelers defense, Brett Favre faces the smothering Patriots and Gus Frerotte could get seriously derailed against the Buccaneers.
RBs we like…
Ryan Grant against the Bears, Julius Jones against the Cardinals and DeAngelo Williams against the Lions are all great sleeper plays due to match-ups. Frank Gore and Brian Westbrook are absolute must-starts in all formats, and Larry Johnson (against the Saints) and Joseph Addai (against the Texans) could both bounce back in a large way. Marshawn Lynch should play well against the Browns on Monday night, and Michael Turner is a solid play against the Broncos.
RBs we dislike…
Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward could have some trouble against the Ravens number one run defense, and LaDainian Tomlinson (against Pittsburgh), Maurice Jones-Drew (against Tennessee), Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams against the Raiders, Thomas Jones (against the Patriots) and Kevin Smith (against the Buccaneers) should all be avoided in Week 11.
WRs we like…
Roddy White should play well against a shaky Denver secondary, Steve Smith will absolutely light up Detroit, Donnie Avery could bounce back against the 49ers, Marques Colston is a must-start against the Chiefs - as is teammate Lance Moore, Chiefs WRs Dwayne Bowe and Mark Bradley are great plays, as are Steelers WRs Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes against the Chargers. Muhsin Muhammad is a great sleeper against Detroit, and Desean Jackson and Kevin Curtis could play well against the Bengals.
WRs we dislike…
Lee Evans is in a two game mini-slump, which could continue on Monday night against the Browns. Plaxico Burress can be benched against Baltimore, and Chris Chambers and Derrick Mason should be avoided due to health issues.
TE predictions…
Vernon Davis appears to be back on track after catching a TD in Week 10, Greg Olsen should play very well against the Packers and Tony Gonzalez will light up the Saints. Three very nice TE super sleepers this week include Atlanta’s Justin Pelle, New Orleans’ Billy Miller and Phily’s L.J. Smith.
TEs to watch out for include Bo Scaife - who can’t keep up with his current pace, Kevin Boss - who has a touch match-up, and Jeremy Shockey - who has been benched for not being able to pass protect.
IDP predictions…
The entire Carolina defense will come ready to play against the Lions, making Julius Peppers and Jon Beason prime IDP prospects this week. Thomas Davis and Charles Johnson are interesting sleeper plays.
