Beware of injuries on your roster in Week 6. Chances are, one of your players is either out, or returning from an injury this week. Check out who we know is in and out, and who’s status is up in the air.
Who is in?
Marques Colston, Saints WR - After being out since Week 1 with a thumb injury, we’re telling all owners to put him in their line-ups this week, as he’ll definitely play against the Raiders. This means Lance Moore and Devery Henderson are not great options. It’s worth noting that Jeremy Shockey may try to comeback from a hernia, but we don’t recommend playing him either way.
Calvin Johnson, Lions WR - He has a knee injury, but practiced Friday and will play in Week 6. He’s a solid WR3 in all leagues. Teammate Roy Williams should also play.
Donte’ Stallworth, Browns WR - Is he ready to make his season debut after a mystery quad injury has kept the 27 year old out for the first five weeks? Yes, he’ll be in the Browns’ starting line-up this week on Monday Night Football. He’s no better than a desperation WR3 option in non-PPR leagues against the Giants.
Bernard Berrian, Vikings WR - Listed as questionable with a knee injury, Berrian was limited in practice Friday with a knee injury, but should play on Sunday against the Lions. Monitor him, but as of now, he’s a must start against Detroit.
Jason Taylor, Redskins DE - Taylor, who almost lost his leg and his life a couple weeks ago due a freaky calf issue, is probable this week and will be in the ‘Skins starting line-up against the Rams. IDP owners should consider Taylor a solid DL2.
Roddy White, Falcons WR - White missed Friday’s practice with a head injury, but said he’ll be fine for Sunday’s match-up against Chicago. He’s a must-start WR3.
Up in the air…
Browns SS Sean Jones, Chargers WR Vincent Jackson, Browns TE Kellen Winslow, Bengals PK Shayne Graham, Vikings WR Sidney Rice, Broncos WRs Eddie Royal and Darrell Jackson are all risky at this point. They’re all likely to be game-time decisions. Monitor their status closely, but even if they play, we’re not sure they’re all great starts at this point.
Who is out?
Anquan Boldin, Cardinals WR - Boldin is out, which means Steve Breaston and Early Doucet are relevant for one more week. Breaston is a solid PPR WR3 in deep leagues against Dallas.
Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks QB - Hass hasn’t officially been ruled out as of this writing, but we’re ruling him out. It’s not looking good for him this week, which means it’s not looking good for Bobby Engram or Koren Robinson either.
Brian Westbrook, Eagles RB - Westy’s out, Correll Buckhalter’s in. Buckhalter is no better than a desperation RB2 or flex play in deep leagues.
Carson Palmer, Bengals QB - Palmer is out, Ryan Fitzpatrick is in for a second time in three weeks. This means T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson aren’t as great of starts as we originally thought they’d be against the Jets this week. This means Chris Perry and Cedric Benson could each see more touches early on.
Deion Branch, Seahawks WR - It’s always one thing or another with this guy, and this week it’s his heel. He’s out indefinitely, but wouldn’t have been missing much with Hasselbeck out anyway. Koren Robinson takes his spot.
Mike Walker, Jaguars WR - After a solid Week 5 performance against Pittsburgh, Walker is out with a knee sprain.
Reggie Brown, Eagles WR - DeSean Jackson owners should be PUMPED. Brown is out, and Kevin Curtis isn’t back yet either, meaning DJax is very relevant this week - and so is L.J. Smith.
Tony Scheffler, Broncos TE - Scheffler is out, making Brandon Stokley and Nate Jackson (TE) decent Week 6 sleepers.
Roy Williams, Cowboys SS - IDPers don’t really have him on the radar anyway.
Terrence Newman, Cowboys CB - Ditto. But this could mean great things for Arizona WRs Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston.
