  |   Laveranues Coles hadn’t done much at all heading into Week 4. Not only that, but the Jets were 1-2 and Brett Favre was being accused by many analysts of not wanting to play football at all, especially in New York. All of that is obviously nonsense, as Favre tossed the rock for 289 yards and six TDs at the Meadowlands in Week 4.
Rising - Laveranues Coles, Jets WR - Coles came alive in Week 3, catching six balls for 75 yards and a score, but that was just a preview of what was to come in Week 4, as Coles hauled in a whopping eight passes for 105 yards and three TDs. The Jets now go into a bye, but the fact that Coles has a high ceiling and tons of potential going into each week the rest of the way, with Favre targeting him often, is a great sign for his owners. Look, the Jets offense is just starting to gel, making Coles’ prospects for a solid rest of the season very strong.
Rising - Brett Favre, Jets QB - Favre tossed a career-high six TDs in Week 4 against the Cardinals, truly putting him on the map as a force to be reckoned with this season. He has the Bengals, Raiders, Chiefs and Bills coming out of his Week 5 bye, making him a must start in all formats.
Rising - Lance Moore, Saints WR - The youngster from Toledo likely has a short shelf-life, with David Patten, Marques Colston and Jeremy Shockey all likely to be healthy in a few weeks, but in the meantime, the 5′9″, 190 pound return man will be one of Drew Brees’ favorite targets. The Vikings and Raiders are up next, and Moore is a solid WR3 start in all formats. Teammate Robert Meachem, who caught two balls for 99 yards and a score is a much better long term prospect, as he could win the starting WR2 gig opposite Colston in 2009. Dynasty owners should be trying to add Meachem to their squads.
Rising - Muhsin Muhammad, Panthers WR - The veteran has proved he has a lot left in the tank, hauling in eight passes for 147 yards and a score against the Falcons in Week 4. Obviously, he is much better with Steve Smith on the field, as he faces a lot less defensive attention. Expect him to continue to be a solid WR3 play in PPR formats, with the Chiefs, Saints and Cardinals in three of his next four games.
Rising - David Garrard, Jaguars QB - Over the past two weeks, Garrard has done what he did for most of last season - play solid, lead the Jags, and let the freaking stats just take care of themselves. He’s not flashy, but his stat line sneaks up on you by the end of the day. Look for Garrard to play well against the Steelers and Broncos prior to his Week 7 bye.
Rising - Steve Breaston, Cardinals WR - The second year man from U-M, who has made his living as a return man thus far, hauled in nine passes for 122 yards in Week 4, establishing himself as the Cards’ WR3. However, an opportunity may be opening up soon, as Anquan Boldin left the game with what looked like a serious neck injury in Week 4. If Boldin misses time, Breaston will be a great waiver wire pick up and a decent starting WR3 option for owners in deep leagues.
Rising - Miles Austin, Cowboys WR - The second year man from Monmouth proved that his two catch, 115 yard, one TD performance at Green Bay last week was no fluke, hauling in three passes for 45 yards and a score against the Redskins in Week 3. We’re not ready to advise seasonal owners to use him just yet, but dynasty owners should take notice of the 6′3, 215 pound 24 year old and add him to their rosters due to his apparent future potential as Dallas’ WR2.
Rising - Dustin Keller, Jets TE - We’ve liked Dustin Keller since draft day, when the Jets traded up to take him with the 30th overall pick. The TE from Purdue is definitely more of a WR than a TE, and even though he’s behind Chris Baker on the depth chart, the Jets’ offense has given fantasy owners new reason for hope. Keller has two TDs in mop-up duty in each of the last two games, but he’s still a player to get excited about - especially for dynasty owners.
