Justin Durant Could Be An IDP StudYou all know by now that we pride ourselves on being the first to make a call about a player. Well, we’ve always been high on Jags LB Justin Durant, and now we have reason to be even higher on him.

Rising - Justin Durant, Jaguars MLB - The third year former second round pick from Hampton has played very well in limited time over the last two years, and earned a starting spot towards the end of 2008 at weak side linebacker. Word coming out of Jacksonville is that he will take over the starting middle linebacker job in 2009, and veteran Daryl Smith will move over to the weak side. This move to MLB means that the speedy, hard-hitting Durant will likely blossom into a tackle producing beast as the leader of the defense in his third season. IDP owners should consider he and Larry Foote - who will start at MLB in Detroit - solid IDP breakout candidates. Durant can be a difference maker if taken in the last rounds of deep IDP leagues as an alternative to higher priced starting ‘backers.

Rising - Jason Taylor, Dolphins DE - Word out of Miami is that 35 year old DE Jason Taylor is ready to play, and bring it strong in 2009 after a horrible campaign with the Redskins last season. If he is scored as a DE in leagues that require starters at defensive line, he could definitely be a force - especially with Joey Porter and Cameron Wake occupying pass blockers and taking attention off of him.

Rising - Jabar Gaffney, Broncos WR - The 28 year old journeyman reunites with Josh McDaniels in Denver and has reportedly taken first team reps along with fellow former Patriots WR Chad Jackson. Gaffney likely won’t start, unless the team really does trade Brandon Marshall, but worst case Gaffney will be a very solid WR3 in McDaniels’ attack - and he could provide some value in deep PPR formats.

Rising - Greg Jennings, Packers WR - Jennings was already a top WR in our player rankings, but word has surfaced that he’s been training with Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald this off-season. After signing a new long-term deal, if that doesn’t get his owners’ pants moving, I don’t know what will.

Rising - Danny Ware, Giants RB - The 24 year old second year undrafted free agent from Georgia has only two carries as a pro, but the Giants love him. At 6′0″, 234 lbs., he’s very intriguing, in that he is a bruiser who can also contribute as a pass catcher. Going against him is that Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw and rookie Andre Brown (in that order) are ahead of him on the depth chart. Still, he’s a player to watch, as a guy named Ryan Grant was in the same position exactly two years ago. Ware is one or two injuries away from being a potential fantasy stud.
