It’s no secret, the Detroit Lions have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. So, while no team defense owners will be selecting the Lions’ unit in their draft this year, that doesn’t mean that they can’t yield at least one or two solid individual defensive players for fantasy owners to take a look at.
Rising - Larry Foote, Lions MLB - The Lions signed soon-to-be 29 year old veteran and Detroit native Larry Foote to likely play middle linebacker in Jim Schwartz’s defense. He has played inside linebacker for the Steelers for the last seven seasons, and could transition very well to a 4-3. He’s put up big digits before, leading the Steelers in tackles during their 2005 Super Bowl season. This move definitely puts a damper on the statistical ceiling of second year man Jordon Dizon, who was the front runner to replace Paris Lenon at middle linebacker prior to the Foote signing.
Foote may not be worth drafting in shallow IDP leagues, but could end up being the waiver wire pick up of the year.
